Publisher's summary

When Dr. Blake Farnon hits a shadowy figure with his car, he is astounded when the man almost instantaneously recovers from the accident. But Daniel Vale is no ordinary man, as Blake soon discovers. Daniel is vampire, and, in addition, works for the US government in a secret department of the FBI.

At first wary of the undeniably handsome vampire, Blake cannot resist Daniel’s allure for long. From the moment Daniel shows up at Blake’s apartment with a poisoned silver sword imbedded in his side, Blake is hurled into an adventure beyond his wildest imaginings.

Demons, ancient gods and a vindictive goddess determined to tear apart the fragile fabric of world peace after the Middle East War, can only be stopped by other supernatural beings—vampires. And Blake finds himself caught up in the fight, whether he wants to be or not.

Can his fledging relationship with Daniel possibly survive? He’d thought it crazy enough he’d fallen for a vampire, but the rest of it? What would his mother say?

Great series!

I have really enjoyed this series, but this one felt different from the others with their suddenly being demons, witches, and gods greatly expanding the universe this series exists in. I don't hate it but it made this book feel like a different style/sub genre than the rest.
That said it was a good story, I really adored how absolutely chill Blake was about everything and just went with the absolute chaos his life became, chill main characters are my very favorite and not seen enough. I hope there will be more in this series (I'm audio only do idk if there are more already out or not). I like this narrator a lot too.

Loving this series !!!

In the third installment of this gripping series, we are introduced to two compelling characters, Dr. Blake Farnon, the MD, and Daniel Vale, the enigmatic Vampire. This series has me in its firm grip, and author JP Bowie doesn't hold back with his characters. It's a straightforward tale of meeting, mating, and falling in love.

Dr. Blake's life had been somewhat solitary after a failed relationship and estrangement from his dysfunctional family, including a mother, sister, and a homophobic brother-in-law. He kept to himself and focused on his medical career. Little did he know that a chance encounter, a collision with his car and Daniel, would irrevocably alter the course of his life. Their attraction is incendiary, their desire so intense that Blake has never experienced a deeper connection. However, Daniel is harboring a secret.

Daniel is not just a vampire but also a member of a covert department within the US government, working on a case that leads to his capture by humans who have devised a way to trap a vampire using poisoned blood. As the narrative unfolds, it takes a thrilling dive into a world inhabited by other supernatural beings. As the stakes rise, Blake becomes entangled in this conflict due to his relationship with Daniel, who has done everything in his power to keep him out of harm's way. The story also features cameo appearances by other memorable characters.

I have wholeheartedly relished this series, eagerly anticipating the next audio installment while resorting to reading in the meantime. I wholeheartedly rate this story at a solid 4.5, and Duncan Prescott's performance deserves an unequivocal 5.

Vampires and Secret Agencies!

I had to wait awhile for this latest installment, and it was worth it! So many more elements are introduced in the world. There are secrets and more supernatural species to be found. I have to say Duncan Prescott has the perfect "Vampire" voice. His style sets the mood and atmosphere of the surroundings as well as the characters. Dr. Blake is a dedicated but pretty aloof doctor. Daniel is a vampire with secrets of his own. These two literally meet accidentally and they develop a fun and exciting romance. If this series ever continues or spins off, I am here for it!
