Nope

I used a credit on this because of the overwhelmingly great reviews on amazon... but I thought it was just corny.

A perfect example of this is when “the bad guy” spent a whole chapter explaining every evil thing they have ever done and all the reasons why. I hate this. I hate it when the villain explains themselves in a lengthy monologue. It’s lazy writing to me.

The narration was fine at first, but the longer I listened the less I liked it. I hated the fake British accent she did for all the aliens. And it was gross how when she said words with P’s it sounded like she had too much spit in her mouth and that she was spitting when popped her p’s.

If I can return this I will because it was a waste of a credit in my opinion.

Absolutely Loved It!

The characters were likable, storyline involved magic and sexy aliens- what was not to love about this book. I can’t wait for more books in this series. The narrator did excellent job doing both male and female voices.

Ok

This story confused me as I didn’t know the time it was set in at first and then when I did figure it out none spoke like they would’ve in that time period. I’m not talking about a accent but the words and phrases were more modern, for a world set around 500 BC.
I like the plot of the story and everything it was just the world building was limited.
Aleric was charming, brash, and playful. He need all those things to not loose his mind on this backwards planet.
As for Julia she was clever but naive. She let so many people push her around I was happy when she got some backbone and fought back.

Narration was great! like all Lauren Sweet narrated books are.
