Great concept, execution pretty good

The idea was intriguing, a fresh idea in a market flooded with zombie books. I liked it, and will probably buy the next 2, but I'm a forgiving reader. It reads like a frat boy wrote it. The main character has a bit too much boy scout with more testosterone than would befit a guy that is constantly upset by people killing zombies. He is immediately thrown into bed with a girl he just met, and the sex scene was jarring. Very short, a little too penthouse letters (and that's saying something, cuz I love the letters), and I'm telling you right now, if you're gonna write those scenes out in explicit detail, you gotta make it believable for the girl to be satisfied too... if it's not long enough for me to be satisfied by the end, ain't no way she is, dude. Cuz nobody loves me like me, and that guy couldn't tell his a$$ from a hole in the girl.

Other than that, I liked it. It was entertaining, and, I think in a few years this author is gonna do great things. So I'm gonna go buy the next one and see how it goes.

Absolutely loved it but.....

I loved this book and it left me wanting more. Good news is there are more, bad news only 1 is on audiobook. Such a bummer as I would totally buy them all but I understand it isn't easy to do audiobooks right now with audible and the production fees are crazy high. Definitely worth the listen for any Zombie fan.

Fun cheesy zombie fun with a sinister twist

First of all anyone who has worked in a call centre for customer support will love it! They really nailed the frustration and ridiculousness that these customer service support reps have to deal with both from their own internal management and from customers and then there is the very well done sarcastic writing regarding our main character as he deals with worsening calls indicating that a real zombie apocalypse has actually taken place and he does an excellent job thinking fast helping people meanwhile, we slowly realize that this corporation may have more of a hand in the zombie apocalypse than they want their lowly customer reps to be aware of!!! Mystery!!! Laughs!!! Zombie spray that seems to be hurting more helping and does the company know more than they are telling !!! I have listened to every type of zombie genre and I must say this is fresh and fun listen worth your time if you are a true ZA lover give it a try it’s worth it !!!!!

Fun Story

This is a fun story. Listening to Matthew Crow as Sam going through his time at work where he and his coworkers go from "assisting" their customers to arm themselves in case of a zombie attack to defending themselves in a real one has you feeling like you are right there experiencing it with him. I could definitely picture it all from him sitting there bored at the start.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Keep looking. Not good.

The narrator did a great job, but
I genuinely hate the main character. Hes in the middle of an apocalypse and his only thoughts are, "Oh man, I have a girlfriend. A real life girl likes me!!!" Ugh.

Don’t bother

I thought maybe this would be funny or like a satire similar to Shawn of the Dead, but this book misses the mark. Instead of ironic or sarcastic, the characters are just down right dumb and borderline annoying in their thoughts and behaviors. I ended up returning.

This story was ruined 1/2 way thru!

It would be nice to listen to a story without the gratuitous sex! It doesn't add anything to the story
