What Happens When Women See What Men See?

You already know that your husband, boyfriend, or son is wired differently from you, but do you know what that really means? It means, among other things, that he's been given the gift of a unique visual wiring - and the challenges that come with it. In Through a Man's Eyes, Shaunti Feldhahn and Craig Gross team up to help open our eyes to the God-given visual nature of men. They address questions like:

  • "Why are guys so visual - and what does that mean, anyway?"
  • "How do I help my son navigate this sex-crazed culture?"
  • "How dare someone tell a woman to watch what she wears! Isn't it a man's responsibility not to look?"
  • "If he's tempted by visual images, is there something wrong with him? With me?"
  • "My husband is an honorable guy, so why would he be tempted by porn?"
  • "How can I talk to my husband or son about this? What can I do to support him?"

Through the compassion and candor in this audiobook, you can learn what men have long wished the women in their lives knew but didn't know how to explain - and see the difference this awareness makes.

I'm hooked to learn more!!

I finished this audio very quickly because everything I heard is rarely talked about. I feel I understand my hubby better and have a good map as to how to approach him in a very sensitive topic (his secret porn viewing). I now feel confident I can open the lines of communication both with my husband and my kiddos. Thank you for making this audio!!!

Very well written

Accurately describes how us men think (well at least me).
I really hope it helps women understand us better.

Every woman must get this.

Excellent resource! Everyone should get this audible book or read this book. It is excellent, packed full of information. I've read her books in the past and they keep getting better - just when you think you've heard it all, you get a deeper understanding.

BRAVO!

I often wonder if someone like Ross from “Poldark”, or Utrid Ragnarsson from “The Last Kingdom”, after riding off on their horses, they’ve just left their wives at home with the children....now around the campfire in the forest on the way through their journey, they pull out their iPhones bring up social media and start scrolling all the sexy girls and fantasizing about what they would do with them. They didn’t have internet back then, so they thought about their wives and coming home to them and looking at their naked bodies again, and loving them and honoring them. If they saw a pretty girl they were attracted to they smiled, but didn’t look her up on social media later....
This is not some stuck up generational issue. Women are wired a certain way, men are wired a certain way, and we have always always been this way. Time does not change that. We all have choices, and Internet has changed everything. Many people are getting off social media because of the havoc it’s causing amongst couples of all ages.
The way we are wired has not changed, period. The world has, so now it’s up to us.

So Enlightening!

This book was very helpful for many reasons!

1. I can now better understand what my husband experiences on a daily basis and be more understanding when we have open dialogue about it.

2. I have a young son. I feel more empowered to help guide him through struggles he will experience

3. I have a daughter. I can help her understand a new layer of thinking before getting dressed each day…as well as myself.

4. We do Christian Coaching and have encountered couples dealing with these issues. This is a great tool for helping them understand the why behind the behavior as they heal.

Great for wives and mothers of boys

Great read to understand how men view the world. As a woman, I really don't fully understand and this book does a great job explaining it without sugar coating it. Gave me a lot to think about for my boys who are still young.

Really a great book

Into the minds and thoughts of men, with a twist. So important to have self respect, open communication, and grace while standing firm in character and morals. This book really addresses so much understanding for men, the up and coming youth. Women are wired SOOOOO differently. Men are a amusement park of twists and turns when it comes to the visual side of life, but God gives us women opportunities to prayerfully stand firm, yet have grace when it’s appropriate in the Lords hands.

Eye opening. Not 4 those with PTSD Betrayal Trauma

This it was eye-opening. However. I have a few friends in councelling, so I have first hand knowedge that this book really isn't for everyone. For women who have wonderful husbands who just happen to be male and have eyeballs and testosterone.. for women who are simply curious about what the average visual guy goes through in a day, then this book is for you. However, if you are being treated for Betrayal Trauma PTSD, this book is not for you. The book is very eye-opening to the world of men's visual nature, yes. But it is also a little insensitive to the 50%-70 of women and wives who have Betrayal Trauma PTSD after their husband's porn addiction. Also, this book never touches on how deep the rabbit hole goes where porn is concerned and that it almost always leads to child pornography when an addiction is involved, no matter how nice or moral the addicted man is. In that aspect, I think this book is either a bit outdated or under researched. (For more info on the realities of porn, go to fightthenewdrug.com and if you have Betrayal Trauma PTSD read the book Intimate Deceptions by Dr. Sheri Keffer). This book seems to be a bit light-hearted in an area where a lot of women are in actual *psychological trauma* due to their spouse's porn use. If you're looking for a book that has a general, light approach to how men are visual, this is a great book for you. But if you're trying to understand how your husband has gotten himself into a horrible porn addiction, then you will be further traumatized and possibly triggered by this book.
