When Andrew stumbles upon Jamie’s house, he’s injured, starved, and has nothing left to lose. A deadly pathogen has killed off most of the world’s population, including everyone both boys have ever loved. And if this new world has taught them anything, it’s to be scared of what other desperate people will do . . . so why does it seem so easy for them to trust each other? Max Remus couldn't care less about finding his mate—unlike the rest of his fate-obsessed pack. He totally prefers hanging with his bestie, eating his dad's steak sandwiches, and drawing in his trusty sketchbook. But all that is about to change at the Blue Moon Festival—a summer camp where Elite Pack wolves go to find their mates. The festival is a rite of passage for every teen werewolf, and this year's festival will be one to howl home about. The alpha's son, Jasper Apollo, is attending for the first time.

Story
Crest is not excited to be on their Journey: the month-long sojourn on land all teen merfolk must undergo. The rules are simple: Help a human within one moon cycle and return to Pacifica to become an Elder—or fail and remain stuck on land forever. Crest is eager to get their Journey over and done with. Arek hadn’t thought much about what would happen after he completed the prophecy that said he was destined to save the Kingdom of Ere from its evil ruler. As a temporary safeguard, Arek’s best friend and mage, Matt, convinces him to assume the throne until the true heir can be rescued from her tower. Except that she’s dead.

Had me sobbing like a baby at the end. Great all around, the voice work was 10/10. The suspense and anxiety had me shaking and sick at points, my heart will never be the same after this one.

A wild ride which pays off. ❤️
I’ll be honest—most of this second Wranglestone book was very dark for my tastes. I’m not saying every story has to be all sunshine and rainbows, but it seemed liked so much of the story had not even a glimmer of joy. But as I kept with it to its conclusion, I realised you couldn’t have the payoff at the end without the suffering to get to it. To say more would risk spoilers, so I’ll just say that I’m really happy how this turned out. I adore the characters of Peter and Cooper more than any I’ve read about in a very long time. Both of these books, Wranglestone and Timberdark, really got into my heart. Also, Hunter Stanford was the perfect narrator for this. Very well done, all around.

Perfect Ending
What an awesome tale to pull us back into the world of Wranglestone, where there’s always more beneath the surface than you expect. Darren Charlton really creates a story that makes you ask so many questions until every piece of the story clicks together. Though some might say that the reveal at the 13th hour might be a bit cliché, I really resonated with the message and how it related to the boy’s story. This series is by far will hold such a special place in my heart. Hunter Stanford does an amazing narration job as always.

Good story if you like the intrigue, lovey-dovey bits, and standard post-apocalyptic drama. Not so much for the ham-fisted misanthropy.

Hoodwinked by self riotousness
If the author thinks capitalism is so bad then he should either give the money he makes from readers away or not charge for his books. Isn’t he perpetuating the society he demonizes by capitalizing on the consumers he tricked in to buying his second book because we thought it was going to be a continuation of the first book? Hypocritical! I’ll never buy another book by this author.

Existential Crisis
Not as good as the 1st book. This book is about the existential crisis of the modern world. It gets you depressed by stating what's wrong with the way things are and then leaves you without resolution. If you are looking for a resolution then try the books Levels of Energy or Parallel Universes of Self, by Frederick Dodson. Also Neville Goddard: The Complete Reader is a GREAT BOOK for finding the resolution to existentialism and how to move forward in life. Both of these books are on Audible. The writing for Timberdark is good a little slow at times but good. Also, some of the sad bits of the book seem unnecessary to the plot, it's like the author thinks if it isn't a little sad then it's not valid as a story.
