About this listen
A simple mistake. A slip through time and space. A strange new world.
He should have been more careful. But Alfred Favero, Senior Analyst with the IRS, wasn’t. Now he’s stuck in a world of opposites, where everything he knows is called into question.
To survive in Yngil-wode, the taxman must rely on a mysterious band of outlaws and tax thieves. But he risks getting drawn into a war with a tyrant. He risks sacrificing every principle he holds sacred.
How far will a man of the law go to save his own neck? How far will he go to save the woman he loves?
Alfred’s about to find out.

Go big or go home. For privateer Captain Magdalene Landon, it's all about going big. For Kay Ellis, it's about getting home. Together, they're about to architect the most daring heist in the galaxy. Kay knows too much. She knows it’s a matter of time before a conglomerate hitman finds her. She’s desperate for safe passage back to Union space. Then Magdalene shows up, promising a way home in exchange for that information. It’s a risky bet, but Kay is out of options. So she strikes a deal: the heist of the century for her freedom. Story
Jake is working at the neighborhood market under his apartment when the world ends. He expected nuclear war, a computer virus, or even climate change burning everyone to a crisp to bring about the downfall of civilization. But cruel and arbitrary gods from another world? Who would have guessed that? When these cruel gods shuffled Earth like a deck of cards, nothing was in the same place anymore. Monsters, dungeons, and magical items appear scattered across the globe. And suddenly, everyone has access to a new, strange magical card system that gives them magical powers.

Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake. So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave? Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

Story
In a corporate-dominated spacefaring future, planetary missions must be approved and supplied by the Company. Exploratory teams are accompanied by Company-supplied security androids, for their own safety. But in a society where contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder, safety isn’t a primary concern. On a distant planet, a team of scientists are conducting surface tests, shadowed by their Company-supplied ‘droid—a self-aware SecUnit that has hacked its own governor module, and refers to itself (though never out loud) as “Murderbot.”

The first dragonrider in over a hundred years has been born...and it’s a girl. Never before has a female been chosen to ride a dragon. The Elite, a guild comprised exclusively of dragonriders, is dead according to most. No one has seen a rider in decades. The problems they used to fight overwhelm the world. Dragons are thought to be near extinction. However, the Elite aren’t dead...It’s just that a bunch of crusty old men who do nothing that benefits the world at large are easy to mistake as useless corpses. Another heckin' fun ride
Another edition of the Taxman's adventures and another heckin' fun ride.
Son of a biscuit, do I enjoy the team of Rachel Ford (author) and John Carter Aimone (narrator) in the Time Traveling Taxman series. This time we're treated to Alfred and Nancy traveling to an alternate universe with an alt-Alfred and alt-Justin in tow and antics ensue. I loved the interactions between Alfred and Nancy and the Alts. It's scenes like those that make this series so much fun.
To be honest, this book didn't quite go how I expected based on the synopsis. It was probably my least favorite of the series so far, but still incredibly enjoyable. The only issue I would have is, now that Alfred and Nancy have been a couple for a little while, I wish Alfred was a little more confident in his relationship and not always thinking that Nancy is ready to jump ship. In this particular instance, I can sort of see his concerns, but I hope that this adventure is a turning point for him.

Alfred views himself and good governance
This little gem in the Time Traveling Taxman series has hit a new stride, addressing relevant personal and social issues for young people. Alfred--who has been painfully gaining self-awareness over time--and his lady love Nancy take another tumble into the multiverse, coming face-to-face with a short series of other-dimensional doppelgangers. Finally, Alfred and Nancy meet other-Alfred (aka Freddo) and other-Justin, now a married couple, and end up in medieval England, in a version of the tale of Robin Hood.
Except--he's stealing taxes from a mayor who wants to build a hospital, and he wants to spend it on addictive potions for himself and his merry, shiftless band, while the wives of the forest work themselves to exhaustion taking care of the men (who are lazy) and sick children (who need the hospital). And so we see the selfishness of addictive behavior, the beneficial application of taxes for the common good, and and Alfred taking relationship advice from Freddo, who has chosen Justin to partner with. It's a wonderful mashup of human behaviors and completely turns the tale of Robin Hood on its head!

Enjoyable read
Time Slips & Tax Thieves (Time Travelling Taxman Book 4)), my fourth read from author Rachel Ford. This book is so well-written & enjoyable. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. John Carter Aimone’s talented narration adds greatly to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to the next book in the series. "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This book is probably my favorite in the series so far. Laugh out loud funny it was a pleasure to listen to. The whole multiverse story line is a perfect addition to this series.

Love and Taxes in Alternate Dimensions!
Great story and narration!
Alfred and Nancy are back and going on vacation! What could possibly go wrong? Bad weather? Getting sucked into alternate realities? Being accosted by dangerous criminals? Who knows? We do know, however, that Alfred loves Nancy, and that our trusty taxman takes his taxes seriously!
This was a fantastic continuation of the series, and if you enjoyed the rest of it then you will love this one too!

Camping?
The tax man and his girlfriend go for a 2 week camping vacation to rest and relax. What could go wrong? The time slip device gets wet and malfunctions, taking them to alternate realities where they already exist, except with relationship mash-ups. The tax thieves are not who you think!

Alfred in the Multiverse
This is an outstanding addition to the Time Traveling Taxman series. First, the story in itself is very interesting. But more importantly, Time Slips explores some of the conundrums of the multiverse theory and how these changes bring Alfred to question his views of life and love. A story that is both light and heavy!

Funny and out of the box
The interplay between the characters in this book is hilarious. I loved the storyline and out of the box take on time travel.
Narrator did a better job in this book or I am getting used to his voice.
Definitely worth listening to if you like time travel books.
