I WOULD GIVE THIS BOOK 6 STARS IF I COULD. IT IS JUST THE RIGHT BLEND OF MYSTERY, LAUGHS, MEAN GIRLS, AND FEEL GOOD, WITH THE TWIST OF A FUN LOVING NUN. QUINN, DARIA, BASH, AND AIDEN, ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE CAST ARE KEEPERS. I HOPE BOOK 2 IS ON ITS WAY. (The 4 on performance is just because she mispronounced some words. It does not detract from the book.)

I loved To Kill A Mocking Girl! It has everything I love about cozy mysteries including likable interesting characters, an intriguing mystery, humor, romance and it takes place in Vienna,VA. Quinn recently returned home to Vienna, VA after working abroad for 3 years. She is working at her family’s bookstore repairing old books. Her cousin and best friend is Sister Daria who is now a member of a local religious order. It adds an interesting angle but isn’t overly religious. Quinn and Daria run into twin mean girls they went to school with and then Quinn and her brother Sebastian (Bash) see them later that same day. One of the twins ends up dead and Quinn is a suspect for a bit. Detective Aiden Harrington is on the case. Quinn has a crush on him but he sees her as a kid. Or does he? This book was hard to put down! I had the audiobook narrated by Renee Dorian who did a good job but sometimes it was difficult to tell Quinn from Daria. Oh, how I love a good cozy mystery. In the first book of the Bookbinding Mystery series, Kincaid gifts her readers with a positively addictive read. From the beginning of TO KILL A MOCKING GIRL, I was instantly invested in Quinn, her parents, and Sister Daria. Then you throw into the mix a murder you know Quinn is going to stick her nose into, a dog that seems to be on the case with her, and all the quirkiness of a small-town. What more can you ask for?

What made this book even better is that the author’s writing just flows from one scene to the next. As the momentum builds within the investigation, so does the story. She manages to give weight to the more serious parts while still sprinkling the dialog with humor and sass. So good!

TO KILL A MOCKING GIRL was incredibly wonderful. Just the right amount of everything. I cannot wait to take my next trip to Vienna, Virginia.

To Kill A Mocking Bird is ok. It has interesting characters the plot is entertaining, but, Quinn and Daria are immature and their antics are annoying. I finished the book, but, I had to skip ahead every once and a while to because the pace is a bit slow.

I was optimistic but quickly lost interest. The story felt off and I surmised it was the narration. I often felt like I was listening to a teen tell a story, one that I kept pretending I was hearing all the details.

Not sure if the author or the so called heroine are dumber. this story is soooo bad. first it should be about half as long, you figure it out half way thorough but the supposed sleuth never does, she just stumbles along. then she gets an award for figuring things out, except she didn't... i guess the author forgot that point. or maybe the author aldo tasted the dog biscuit of a dog clearly showing signs of poisoning.... honestly! the author realy has the "sleuth" do that! that's a demonstration of the level of intelligence we are dealing with here. if you like idiot so called sleuths, who just stumble from one erroneous conclusion to another, no parody mind you, this is a book for you. the narrator is ok, i felt sorry for her for having to read this, but at least she got payed.
