Publisher's summary

Falon Shaw is the go-to photographer for celebrities in New York City. She's young, beautiful, and driven. She's determined to be the best, and she's not about to let anyone get in her way. She dreams of a future filled with travel and photographs of places far away from the only world she's ever known.

Music is Asher Foster's passion. After he dug himself out of the pit of his addictions, he turned his life around. He found not only solace on the stage, but fame as well. He's trying to put his demons behind him and right when he thinks life can't get better, it all crashes down around him.

She's there to help him pick up the pieces. He's there to show her how to love herself. Together they realize that their pasts can't define them and the future they envision together may be the one thing that can save them both. Contains mature themes.

Sweet & Sexy

What an incredibly sweet and sexy story. Falon is one of 13 kids, working as a successful photographer but still feeling like she is one of many. Never as the one. Asher is a musician, holding onto a lie that could forever change his life. Falon and Asher meet when Falon is hired to photograph Asher and from there, these two are inseparable and once they get through minor hurdles in their relationship, they tackle each other's demons.

I loved that Falon and Asher were solid almost from the start. The insecurities they had within their relationship, they handled like adults and didn't run from their problems. This made them a solid foundation to tackle the issues they had individually. It made for a unique book that is not a cookie cutter of other stories.

Amelie and Rudy did a great job with narration. The only minor issue I had is Rudy's female voice. It sounds nothing like an actual female, just a slightly mocking male impersonating a female. That is an extreme way of saying it, because truly it's not that bad but I can't think of any other way to describe it. It's not my favorite. But his male voice and also his acting make up for that because he portrayed Asher with perfected ease.

Short and Sexy

This was an interesting and provocative story about how family dynamics and drama and influence our lives. Falon being 7 out of 13 children left her always feeling like a number in her family. But Asher wanted different things out of life than being involved in the family business so he always felt on the outside. These two have their family issues in common but is it enough to build on their mutual attraction to develop a lasting relationship. Deborah Bladon is amazing at delving into complex relationships -- family and otherwise -- as she does with this story. This is another compelling listen by Ms. Bladon.

The narrators are okay. Rudy Sanda sounds as if he is struggling to read to the point where it sounds very choppy. Different narrators would have made it a better listen.

I would pay the price again for this story. So yes overall worth the price I paid.
