Intense

Trade Agreement by JJ Keller pulled me in from the beginning. I was shocked at what an ex-husband would do for revenge, and yet karma got him. The book had many unexpected twists. I warmed up to the character of Georgina after a short while and really liked Jake. The narration by Michelle Marie brought the characters to life with her realistic emotions and I enjoyed her distinguishable voices for the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would listen to more books by this author and narrator. The plot of this book was complex and I did enjoy the suspense.

You really need to pay attention to this one......

Trade Agreement is a combination of mystery, romance and action-adventure, but you really need to pay attention throughout the story. The book bounces back and forth between the present and the past, which really builds the suspense. As I listened to the present, I kept trying to figure out how the main characters had ended up at that point. Then, as if reading my mind, the author would jump back to the past and answer my question. The story features Georgina, a wealthy woman in hiding from her abusive and possible criminal ex-husband, and Jake, the undercover FBI agent posing as her neighbor in order to watch her movements. Although some of the criminal activities and treatment of Georgina are dark, the author doesn't dwell on that darkness. Overall, the book has the feeling of a traditional romance with plenty of drama, action and intrigue to keep everything very interesting. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, and they were very well fleshed out. Even the bad guys seemed human and not just two dimensional thugs. The romance between Jake and Georgina is an achingly slow burn, but this just made the outcome that more satisfying once it arrived.

Michelle Marie's narration is excellent. She has a very pleasant voice and smooth delivery. I deducted one star because there are some mispronounced words throughout the story, but her performance is otherwise very professional and satisfying.

good if you stick with it.

I almost gave up on chapter 2 of this book. It just seemed like you were thrown into the middle of the story and have no clue what was going on. That is how the story started. I like the description of the book so I thought I'd hang in there for a couple more chapters. Things became more clearer and the story.better.

Michelle Marie did an excellent job narrating for us,

Suspenseful!

This was my first JJ Keller's book. This romantic suspense is fun, suspenseful, action packed and filled with danger, adventure, and unexpected twists and turns. The story goes back and forth, past to present. Jake and Georgia are great characters. Georgia is hilarious! I love Jake! He is handsome and protective. The secondary characters are also great! I love the ending. Michelle Marie did an amazing job with the narration. Her range of character's voices is impressive. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook — at my request — and have voluntarily left this review.

murder and mayhem...on the high seas!

Georgina has run from Boston to a quiet town in Virginia to escape her murderous ex-husband. Then her handsome neighbor moves in and sets her little heart all aflutter. She starts a relationship with Jake but then her ex finds her and before she can blink, she's being traded to a Russian trafficker on a freighter. Her only hope is that Jake will find her...and her journal.
The story goes back and forth between present day, with Georgina as a captive on the freighter, and 6 months prior when she met Jake, and the progression of her relationship. What will happen when she learns that Jake is really an FBI agent who was sent to investigate her as the prime suspect in the trafficking case? Jake fell in love with the fiesty little lady but can he prove that she has become more than a job to him?
I enjoyed the story...Georgina's antics had me LOL...she really is a great character. This was my first book by this author and I must say that it will not be my last.
