Publisher's summary

When Brooke Kingsley finally captures the interest of her four-year crush-Dylan Crawford-her world turns upside down. Feeling alive for the first time, Brooke decides to spend her last three days of summer with Dylan and discovers there's more to him than the rumors being whispered all over town. The problem is, Brooke's father doesn't want his daughter anywhere near the blue-collar bad boy. As Brooke leaves for college, she'll realize that some boys aren't easy to forget.

Dylan Crawford has hated the Roseville Snobs his entire life, but one particular Snob has captured his eye-Brooke Kingsley. He knows he should stay away from her, but willpower has never been his strong suit. When she leaves for school, Dylan tries to move on with other girls, but the memory of Brooke taunts him. There's an undeniable pull to the very girl he's been warned to stay away from.

When tragedy strikes the Kingsley household, secrets are uncovered. Brooke and Dylan must decide if what they feel for each other is strong enough to conquer their families' dark past.

This is a NA (new adult) book and intended for readers 18+

Couldn't Wait for it to End

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is a YA book which is the genre I prefer but this book would only be enjoyable to a preteen-midteen. Only someone young would not find Brooke really annoying.

Has Turning Home turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not all all, I enjoy YA.

What aspect of Jenny Sullivan’s performance would you have changed?

Her performance was fine no recommendations needed.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really and I don’t like admitting it. Brooke is a very sweet girl but she’s incredibly annoying. The constant whining drove me nuts. I’m not saying she shouldn’t have complaints because she’s rich but geez are you happy about anything in your life? I have to be vague here to avoid revealing information…Brooke is so disgruntled about everything in her life and she wants the reader to know she’s nothing like the rich selfish snobs in her town yet she seemed just as selfish when it came to her mother’s incident, she was busy with Dillan. Which I guess I shouldn’t expect more of an 18 year old but I do. Her parents were extremely overbearing and I can understand her frustration but they love her dearly and she showed little to no appreciation which is the behavior of a 14 year old not 18.

Any additional comments?

This book dragged on and didn't get interesting until the last hour then it came and went to fast!
