About this listen
Outlasting the Apocalypse was only the beginning....
Ryan’s week of digital mayhem succeeded in he and Sasha bringing Headshot to its knees, crippling the game, and ruining the highly anticipated launch.
But Deep Dive is now aware of his interference and will stop at nothing to end his involvement once and for all. They’ve sent in super soldiers with rule-breaking privileges, and Ryan’s locked in the post-apocalyptic world until they extract him by force.
Ensnared in the game’s code, his only hope is that he’s now attached to Sasha’s new Headshot character. Even though she won’t be able to see or hear him, he’ll have to save them both as she scours Headshot’s burnt-out world in search of a way to save her father’s legacy.
Don't miss the second book in a thrilling post-apocalyptic litRPG series. It's perfect for fans of L. M. Kerr, Tao Wong, and Ryan DeBruyn.
Narrated by the award-winning Vikas Adam (Divine Dungeon series).

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Raze is "just" a lowly Gearblin chained to the quest-giver desk at the worst (and only) arcade in town. And that’s a problem for her. It means that she’s a Non-Participating Citizen, someone who can’t see her stats nor make opposed rolls against Heroes. It’s why her life’s worth less than the vendor trash she doles out. The old-timers swear it didn’t used to be like this; their issues only began once RNGesus went AFK a thousand years ago, leaving the questionably blessed Heroes to conquer everything without consequence.

Rising Action & Character Growth
Book 2 of Headshot Online has a LOT of rising action, character development, growth, and insight. This makes it a slower book than the first one up until about the last quarter of things (fewer intense or prolonged action scenes until the end), but the level of development and growth provided is crucial to setting up for an ending I can care about. The Ryan of the first book was someone I was less than fully sympathetic to, but his growth due to being forced to see and truly feel the perspectives of others and commit to something larger than himself has made him grow on me considerably. Given the cliffhanger ending of the first book, it should come as no surprise that this one also ends in a cliffhanger, but I am now more committed to finding out how the story ends. This book would not stand alone on its own but is an excellent middle section for the Headshot Online trilogy. Looking forward to Book 3!

Outstanding Audible book. Great LitRpg
What do I like about a good LitRpg book? FUN! I don't want the anger and dread that permeates this world we live in. I want to inhabit a fantasy world where I can succeed and have fun while exploring and discovering what makes it tick and my place in it.
this book, these books, provide that level of fun, intelligent choices, challenging scenarios with great aplomb and unique solutions.
I am looking forward to the continuation of this series and the excellent performance by Vikas Adams.

Pretty good 💛
The second Headshot book was pretty good though I enjoyed the first book more. Again vividly descriptive with plenty of action enable me to put myself right alone with the 2 players but the story seemed to drag until the last 60 minutes and just didnt do it that much for me.
Great narration by Vikas Adam.

Enjoyable Post Apocalyptic LitRpg
Once again the narrator does a wonderful job of reading this story which picks up directly where the last part left off. The first half is slow and drags a little while Ryan is stuck in Shasha's head as a mere passenger. The second half is far better providing many much needed explanations about what the nefarious organisation DeepDive is up to. The actions ramp up until the story ends with a cliffhanger.
Recommended.

Not how you would expect the story to continue...
This second book in the series definitely took a different direction than I thought it was going to go, but that might have been a good thing. Good stories should never be predictable. I will say though that at the beginning of the book I felt frustrated by what was going on because it didn't have the same feel as the first book, but I think that frustration was coming from how the MC was feeling as well. This isn't just about playing a game anymore. Kind of reminds me a bit of how the Hunger Games series progressed from what the first book was to the second book.
I don't feel the second book was as good as the first, but knowing this is a trilogy, and there is an end to how this story plays out, this book probably progressed the story appropriately, and still had plenty of action. I think one of the things I missed in this book compared to the first was the LitRPG element, that portion of the book didn't really get factored in much. If you read the first book though, I would still recommend to continue reading on to this one.
Vikas Adam is always an amazing narrator, it is great to continue to hear him tell this story. I always look forward to his narrations.

Great LitRPG
I received a free review copy of this audiobook.
This is an excellent LitRPG. I really loved it. If you liked the first in the series, you will enjoy this one too. I felt the first book was unique in that the main character played a zombie in an apocalyptic VRMMO. This book also has the main character in a nonstandard role. I found it to be fascinating but don't want to spoil it by giving out too many details. However, in this book he further assists Sasha in her goals in game and learns more about what is really going on behind the scenes.
The narrator really hits it out of the park. His voice has such intensity, which is perfect for this series.

good second entry, but its a story on rails.
I just finished this book and I have to say I didn't like it as much as the first title. Something happens at the end of the first book and that causes the pace of the second book, it a lot slower. The second book reveals much more of the plot and because of that, the story moved a lot slower for me. Plenty of surprises and the author is quite creative, but I felt this book was on rails too much, the MC wasn't able to do anything for nearly 3/4 of the book due to the setup at the beginning... it actually broke a lot of my immersion because I felt like I was standing along side the MC just another passenger on the ride he was stuck on. I am hoping the next book is a lot more exciting!

I enjoyed both books so far, looking forward to the next book in the series.
I liked the perspective of the survivors, made a nice change from book 1. I didn’t like how long it took to get to the zombie stuff.
