Three lost souls

Growing up in the eclectic, small town of Bliss was wonderful for Callie Sheppard. She loved everything about it, except for the lack of potential romantic partners. She only went wild once in her life, sharing a perfect weekend in Dallas with two incredible men she never thought she would see again. When they parted, she was left with a hole in her heart she feared would never be filled.

One romantic weekend

DEA agents Nathan Wright and Zane Hollister were thrilled when Callie agreed to spend the weekend with them. Just days away from a long, undercover assignment, they considered this passionate affair to be an ideal way to spend their last days of freedom. They never expected to fall in love. Leaving her behind was the hardest decision of their lives.

An unexpected reunion

Six years later, Callie is preparing to break in a new sheriff after Rye Harper walked out on the job. Her heart skips a few beats when the man walking through the door is none other than Nate Wright. Nate and Zane have come to Bliss, but their time undercover has left them broken and scarred. The boys are determined to win back Callie’s heart. But when the criminals they took down come seeking revenge, Nate and Zane may have to save the strange little town of Bliss before they can reclaim the woman they love.

Suspense, drama and MFM? Yes please! Spectacular dual narration!

I wasn’t sure where this story was going at first when we first met Callie, Zane, and Nate but WOW did it turn out to be an amazing plot! Suspense, romance, drama and a 2nd chance at love!

“We’re all damaged. We’re all scarred. Sometimes you simply can’t see the scars. Besides, perfection is boring. Perfect things tend to be the most fragile.”

I fell in love with Callie when we first met her in Three to Ride and couldn’t wait to see how her story developed. After these 3 first meet in a whirlwind weekend, the book fast forwards to 6 years later when they meet again. I hate to give away spoilers as the rest of this book has such gripping plot that is much more enjoyable to find out as you read! Just know that it will have you on the edge of your seat while you also enjoy the many spicy MFM romance scenes. Each character grows throughout the story, but their chemistry is complete fire and they just can’t resist! For me this book had a more fascinating and engaging storyline than the first book with a whole lot more romance as well! These characters completely stole my heart by the end of the book! Such a good read!

As I mentioned before, this series is written in 3rd person which isn’t my usual cup of tea BUT if you listen to the audible version, it is dual narrated which makes is SO enjoyable that you forget what POV it is in!

Very good series

I’ve liked each book - Book 3 less than the others, but that’s just personal taste.

Zane, Nate And Callie Sheppard Story

Loved this book. All the bounce around emotions of Callie never knowing what's up and what's down was a little annoying but after multiple twists and turns, they end up together with combined efforts to take out the bad guys. And of course the glorious HEA. Narration was great, love the addition of Lee Samuels and Kitty Bang was great as always. I'd say 5 star rating to the author, BRAVO!!!!

A beautiful love story

#Audiobook #Menage #FirstResponder #MFM #HealingLove #Virgin #SecondChance #SmallTown

Book two of this series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in third person from multiple POV.

I listened to this audiobook on my way to Readers Take Denver 2023. I was in the car alone, so it didn't matter how dirty the audio got. Callie first meets Nathan and Zane when she is 25. They share a hot, hot weekend together before Zane and Nathan leave to go deep undercover for the next several years. Six years later, they have all experienced things in life that have changed them. When Nate shows up in Bliss as the new Sheriff he is bitter, sad, and scarred. Zane has been broken, mentally and physically and he feels he has nothing left to give anyone. Callie has experienced loss and is trying to determine where and how her future should be.

The audio was a wonderful way to read this book. I was captivated by the story of loss and then love reunited. I really appreciated the friendship and bond between Nate and Zane. There are some funny moments regarding how close they are, but they are really all about taking care of Callie. Callie has to learn to trust her men. She has to be able to take the risk of having her heart broken again. Like many books in this series, Callie is a strong heroine. She is tough and direct and doesn't hesitate to put the men in their place when they need it. At the same time, she is happy to submit to the alpha heroes in the bedroom. The men each have their own journey. Nate has to come to a realization that his ambition and what he thought he wanted for a future may not still hold true. Zane allows himself to embrace the quirky town and its inhabitants in the hopes of a future he wants to give Callie. This is a beautiful story and I adore it.

Truer relationship struggles.

Impressed with better realism. Threesomes have such bigger struggles and that was too easy to gloss over in the first book. This was better at expressing some of that. I don't know how easy a relationship with three people could be and I don't know any that do it, but I imagine three is much harder than two. Keeping one man happy so he doesn't stray was impossible for me. Of course the choice of man is the clincher. Now two men? How do you not feel overwhelmed, unworthy or always on guard? Obviously book boyfriends make the experience easy, because they are truthful to the reader as it is written. The real case must be so much more confusing and scary. I guess I want to see and feel that. I also want to know why these boys choose to double team instead of be in individual relationships. I can understand the twins, but others not so much. The next book is not Menage, but more BDSM for Steph's proclivities. I hope to see something emotionally and psychologically deeper from the next threesome. I enjoyed the performance and recommend this book.

Enjoyable Romantic Suspense

I enjoyed this audiobook. The narration was well done and the story was entertaining.

The crowd that lives in Bliss is full of lovable, quirky, witty, off balance characters who stand together to love, support each other, and provide a sense of family. They are warm, comforting, and accepting to strays.

Nate and Zane are just 2 more strays to be embraced by Bliss, and loved by Callie. I liked how they both gradually grew to embrace the town as well as Callie's friends and family.

I also liked the way the town rallied around Nate, Callie, and Zane when trouble came to their door. A really enjoyable series.
