About this listen
This book is a little bit of my story, and a whole lot of God’s story. I invite you into the brokenness of my life only to magnify the greatness of God’s glory as I have found him in my own story. If you dare to listen to my ugly seasons in life, you will find the beauty of a God who loves us no matter where we are at. He created you as one part of a diverse family so much more expansive than you may realize!
This family is a generational lineage of sons and daughters that flows from the heart of God. It spans the entire globe, and its story is found in every generation of humanity. Your story matters! It is part of that family’s glory! You don’t have to be alone. You don’t have to hide your pain. Perhaps it is meant to be exposed to light like mine was. May this story—mine and God’s, challenge you. May you find healing in this audiobook.
I have been praying for you, so let’s take this journey together!

Story
Pain and regret can hold us captive. Our past mistakes and trauma tell us to blame others, feel ashamed, or turn to a temporary fix that often becomes a permanent escape. By the time Satan whispers we need to dress it up and call it home, pain is our new normal. Pastor and motivational speaker Real Talk Kim has a message for us: the pain might not be our fault, but the healing is our responsibility. In You Gotta Get Up, Pastor Kim reminds us as only she can that staying stuck requires as much energy as moving forward.

But the good news is that, when we study the Bible, we find that the Word clearly describes the Spirit’s identity and work. In The Power of The Holy Spirit’s Names, bestselling author and pastor Dr. Tony Evans examines twelve of the Spirit’s most significant titles and what they reveal about this powerful, present, and personal expression of the triune God.

Story
Every person on the planet was born for significance, created by God to make a difference in his kingdom. Fulfilling God’s purpose is a lifelong endeavor, but it comes with a cost. God is a perfect father who looks for chances to pour blessings into the lives of his children. But he is also a father who loves us and doesn’t want to increase our blessing beyond what we have the heart and maturity to carry well. What does it look like when significance is carried well? God is glorified, we are strengthened, and the people around us benefit.

The UnNormal voice in the desert
I’ve known Faith for years and never really understood her heart. My heart not hers. I knew she was extremely talented and a bit “quirky” but I knew God had amazing things for her. This book brought up and brought to focus how unnormal I am and how I don’t fit in but tHats ok. It helped me focus on some traumatic events and come to terms with them and I pray it gives you peace as it did me.

Relatable - freeing to those who don’t quite fit in
Faith Allison shares her heart so authentically I couldn’t put the book down. After each section there are reflection questions which help one go deeper. This would be a great book to do a book club with safe people.
She also talks about taboo things that need to be discussed maturely such as church culture and restoration of people who are in difficult circumstances.
