Publisher's summary
Bring history back to life through Jim Hodges' historically accurate, exciting, and edifying audio recordings.
What is history anyway? It is the story of real people who did real things. For history to be fun for everyone (even those who think they hate history), it must go beyond hard facts and meaningless dates to the real people who made the significant events happen. People like George Washington, who bravely crossed the partly frozen Delaware River to attack the British at Trenton. Stories like that of the bold Americans who bravely fought against the Barbary pirates during the little-known Barbary War show how interesting history is.
In this audiobook, Uncover Exciting History: Revealing America’s Christian Heritage in Short, Easy Nuggets, you will discover how the US created the Constitution, experience the miraculous victory at the Battle of New Orleans, explore America's expansion west, and uncover one of America's best weapons used during World War II. This audiobook is great for history buffs, those who want the story behind the event, adults who want a snapshot view of American history, and homeschool families for students 12 and up.

Story
Out on the Pampas was the exciting story overheard by a friend who encouraged Mr. Henty to have it published, launching his amazing career as "The Boys' Own Historian." In the mid-1800s, the Hardy family relocates to Argentina, joining other British settlers trying to start a better life for themselves in a new land. They face many obstacles and perils in this rugged lifestyle: surveying, building, planting, raising animals, and fighting off attacks from the natives.

Story
Facing Death - A Tale of the Coal Mines is a story with a purpose. It is intended to show that a lad who makes up his mind firmly and resolutely will rise in life, and he who is prepared to face toil and ridicule and hardship to carry out his determination, is sure to succeed. The hero of the story is a typical British boy; dogged, earnest, generous, and though “shame-faced” to a degree, is ready to face death in the discharge of duty. This hero, an orphan named Jack Simpson, at the age of about 10, begins work in the coal mines.

A terrific addition to your Henty audiobook collection! This collection of short stories contains narratives that continue the Henty tradition of heroes both brave and modest. These stories are sometimes sentimental and melancholy, unlike many of Henty's other writings. Henty was primarily known for his full-length novels for young people, but he regularly contributed short stories such as these to weekly boys' magazines such as the Boys' Own Paper and the Union Jack.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

A solid book
This is also one of two audiobooks I chose to give myself as a birthday gift, as it has been on my to-read list for a while. This was a well-written book with a great narrator. All of the stories that were in here were ones I knew, however, I read a lot of on history. I loved hearing the stories again and I think a lot of homeschool parents would enjoy using this for their kids.
