Publisher's summary

Elizabeth Bennet’s first day at Darcy Holdings was turning out to be everything she'd imagined - that is, until she met her new boss William Darcy. True, he’s hotter than Hades, but he's also rude, abrupt, and stares at her as though she’s committed some grievous sin. If only she could avoid him...but her friends’ not-so-brilliant ideas keep throwing them together.

William Darcy put his foot in his mouth when he met Elizabeth Bennet! Now, he’s head over heels for her and needs to apologize. But how? The dreaded office Secret Santa draw is a possibility, but would that help or would it only make things worse?

Twenty-five days of gifts?

It's creepy and overzealous if you ask Elizabeth. And what’s with this weird reaction she has to Mr. Darcy? He's an ogre, isn't he? But what if her friends are correct and he isn't? Could there be more to him than she assumes? What would happen if she were to take a stab at unwrapping Mr. Darcy?

Modern pride and Prejudice

I really enjoyed this book. Great narrator as well. I highly recommend this book to a Jane Austen fan fiction lover. Great Jaff.

I love this Darcy, who wouldn't?

Loved this story! Diamond is a great storyteller and an auto buy when it comes to her books and audio books. The fact that contemporary works are not my cup of tea, (or in this story, coffee) but that I loved this, is testament to her writing skills and abilities.
The story involves our dear couple ODC, working in a modern law office, Darcy being the owner and Elizabeth the newest bright and successful lawyer to the company. And the 'Meryton Assembly, not handsome enough to temp me' situation is very cleverly modernized when Lizzy overhears an angry outburst of an exchange between Bingley and Darcy when he refuses to met her as scheduled on her first day at the office. Well, what a humongous foot in the mouth Darcy achieved with this little dust up! Whew! Oh yes, he had his reasons for being angry that day (which Lizzy witnesses) but it was going to take a long time to make amends for that disaster.
How he goes about it and whether or not it was sweet or a bit over-the-top-inappropriate, is all going to depend on whether Elizabeth sees it as bribery or true regard in the end. Oh, to have your boyfriend or husband take so much care in finding the right gift chosen with your interest and loves in mind. I think she holds on to her anger a little too dang long, myself. I love the fact that once Lizzy and Darcy come together finally, that Diamond continues the story and we get to see into their future happiness instead of 'okay, you forgive me, kiss, kiss, let's head off to bed, curtain closes, happily ever after, the end.' The last chapters seem realistic and natural, very happy but grounded.'
The supporting characters in the tale are really well-written, Charlotte is there as the best friend, Jane is there being the loving 'see no bad in anyone' sister, Bingley is there too, more responsible and stronger in this one. There is one original character I loved but won't spoil the story. And Mr Hurst is portrayed in a totally wonderful, opposite characterization than canon way, I just loved him.
But of course I adored that cat. Oh my gosh I wanted to grab him up so badly. And he really does merit being considered on the cast of characters list. Great Christmas or Darcy and Lizzy anytime story.

Middling - Blah

Everything about this is story is Middle. It’s not bad but not good. The writing, characters and story are Generic Boring and Predictable. Is everyone in this story middle aged? Lizzy has no personality, charm or wit. The writer made her a cat loving, uptight corporate lawyer, hermit. The writer explains she makes friends but shows nothing of her lively spirit, friendliness or sparkling wit. - Darcy is robotic and boring with nothing of the shy but hot alpha male from the original P&P. The narrator sounds like a middle aged, midwestern stereotypical mom.

Sweet

Enjoy a little Christmas fluff. Low angst. A sweet modern variation. Darcy doesn't brood too much and Lizzy is a bit stubborn but not to the extreme. I've read this a few times for a light read.
