About this listen
Maxine Aronheart is the stunning wife of a handsome and successful Beverly Hills hedge fund manager.
A celebratory evening on the company yacht Copius turns to horror, as the yacht suddenly explodes and is engulfed in flames. Maxine is thrown overboard by her husband, Logan, as Copius rapid sinks. He says to her, "You'll forgive me", as he vanishes. Was he trying to save her or kill her?
In the quest to find her husband, Logan, Maxine becomes the unwitting target of kidnappers and killers. Friends and business associates who try to help her discover they have become targets as well. Why? As Maxine seeks to learn more about Logan's mysterious clients and his business, her pursuers get dangerously close. In desperation, Maxine seeks the help of a shadowy and reclusive figure from her past. He tells her of "the red secret", and why all who learn of it will die. He offers Maxine one alternative to certain death, but will it work?

Modern day soap opera with a touch of Dan Brown
This was a perfectly compelling story for my daily commute to work. It is intelligent, but also has the fun of DYNASTY. The author left me wanting more and I hope he continues with a series. I loved Steve Balderson's narration. It never interfered with the story -- only enhanced it. I would love it if he narrates more books for Audible.

Beijing Hotel
I read Vanquish of the Dragon Shroud months ago when it first came out. I saw that there was in audible version, and knew that I must listen to it, as I was headed for China on a three week vacation. I was so intrigued by the audible version that on several days of my tour I opted to stay behind and ordered a glass of wine (bottle) in my hotel room and listen to this book. What a treat it was to experience this incredible book translated by a very talented narrator while I was in Beijing. I can’t wait for the next book.
