Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Laugh out loud funny!
This was a fantastic book that doesn't follow the usual troupe patterns. All of the characters were well developed and believable. Great job Lee Winter and excellent narration by Cat Gould! Excellent.

I can’t wait for more Lee Winter & Cat Gould collaborations; they are delicious fire together!!
I had a fantastic time listening to “Vengeance Planning for Amateurs,” and wow, did Cat Gould truly take Lee Winter’s words to another level! She aaaaaaaaate! 🔥
I enjoyed this audiobook from start to finish. This was my first time listening to Gould, and it definitely won’t be the last! Winter’s romantic comedy is as sharp and delightful as ever, and I’m thrilled that Gould is such an effective voice actor! Her narration truly brought the emotions to life—making me feel every moment even more deeply. Like, I found myself extra seething over Olivia’s exes (looking at you, Annalise!) and, most of all, over Margaret’s mother!
Gould’s narration elevated Olivia’s and Margaret’s vulnerabilities and their dynamic; I rooted for and cried with them even harder! 🩵
Plus, Gould’s Aussie accent made my favourite funny moments even more hilarious! I laughed with extra delight with the secondary characters, aka the Book Club Squad—the comedic spice in this romantic comedy.
In other words, Gould’s narration of “Vengeance…” made me an instant fan! ❤️🔥 Thus, I’m giving this audiobook my loudest recommendation! Whether you’ve read the book or not, Cat Gould’s first-ever narration of a Lee Winter book is a must-listen!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
P.S. Now I’m off to save money so I can buy another Cat Gould-narrated audiobook—Jess Lea’s “A Curious Woman.” I can’t wait to hear her performance as another formidable Margaret!!

hilariously sweet
I loved this story when I read it and love it even more when it's read by Cat Gould! you can not go wrong with this book. The spicy parts are within the last 2hrs of the book but because this story is hilariously sweet you don't mind.

Fabulous romp, wonderful characters! New fav!
A wonderful cast of characters help exact revenge in this comedic romp. This quickly became my new favorite with laugh-out-loud scenes, lovable MCs and quirky side characters, each bringing strengths to the revenge plots. I really enjoy books like this where there's so much fun plot one forgets there's also a romance happening. But the romance is so touching and lovely. So hard to put this tale down.
The narrator brilliantly performs the characters and tender moments.
