Publisher's summary

Something sinuous in the water brushed against Paige's knee. She jerked her leg away. What was that? She rose to a sitting position, groped around with her left hand. Fine wisps wound themselves around her fingers. Hair? She yanked backward, but the tendrils clung. Something solid bumped her wrist. Paige gasped. With one frantic motion, she shook her arm free, grabbed the side of the hot tub, and heaved herself out.

Paige Williams slips into her hot tub in the blackness of night - and finds herself face to face with death. Alone, terrified, fleeing a dark past, Paige must make an unthinkable choice. In Violet Dawn, hurtling events and richly drawn characters collide in a breathless story of murder, the need to belong, and faith's first glimmer. One woman's secrets unleash an entire town's pursuit, and the truth proves as elusive as the killer in their midst.

Take another trip to Kanner Lake.

Great story but wish a woman had narrated

Love the twists and turns of the plot!!! Such a great use of changing perspectives! But with so many women's voices, I would have preferred a woman narrator. But the narrator seemed to interpret perfectly and I was able to follow the story so overall, I enjoyed it.

Very Depressing

What would have made Violet Dawn better?

I tried to return this book but Audible wouldn't let me. I was at chapter 10 and still hadn't learned what was going on. The descriptions of the characters was so graphic and it went on and on till I thought I would cry. The terror and beating of a child was so sad and scary.

Would you ever listen to anything by Brandilyn Collins again?

I have listened to one of her books and it was fine, so yes I will probably try again

Which scene was your favorite?

I only went to chapter 10 and no farther

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Like chalk on a blackboard

The narrator did not do the female characters well. The characters all came off as annoying and whiny especially the main character Paige. I could barely get thru the first book. Tried the second book and just gave up because it was just too irritating. I just did not like the book.
