Chapter 12 Needs Re-recording

This is an amazing story and an amazing book but the reader makes many mistakes that need correcting. He even says “cheese” when the book reads “chicken.” He skips a couple of pages in chapter 12 and then comes back to get them causing me all kinds of confusion until I figured out what was going on!

Great Listen, but one major Lore Flaw.

Where does Warcraft: The Official Movie Novelization rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a really great listen, all though the reader should have taken pauses and announced chapter ends, and begins. Because what we end up with is battlefield scenes spilling over in to courtroom meeting.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Warcraft: The Official Movie Novelization?

As others have commented, the writer done a great job at adding details that were left out of the movie, even adding in moving lines of dialog for each character. But this is where he also made a mistake. Now I would normally issue a spoiler alert here but as this was not in the movie nor is it correct, I wouldn't actually call this a spoiler.

The writer added in a line of dialog, where Medivh called Garona his daughter. This is extreme incorrect. I can see where the writer might have watched the movie and got this Idea. But the fact is Garona is half-Orc, half-draenei, not half human. In fact, in the coming years, Medivh and Garona actually become lovers and he father's her child "Med'an"

So unless we have fallen in to the realm of Game of Throne incest; this line of dialog should have been fact checked before publishing.

Other than this one mistake and the lack of breaks between chapters then is a wonderful listen to any Warcraft or fantasy fan.

Good parallel to the movie

This book picks up after the prequel (Durotan) and pretty much follows the movie plot. However, there is a lot more time here to expand and explain things. The added time and back story helps to make the characters a bit deeper and the connection to them more real. However, despite the additional time, I did feel the story was a bit more rushed, shallow, and empty compared to the prequel. And ultimately I felt like Durotan's contribution to the story was wasted with him accomplishing very little. The narration was pretty decent and in the same style as the prequel. I've seen others complain about the accents but it didn't bother me. Overall, an entertaining story in a great game universe.

NOTE: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Really good storytelling and plot twist.

The narrator for this book did an awesome job. Now I'm going to go see if there a book two. Can't wait to hear how it ends.

Better than the movie

The urgency and pace of movie storytelling. With depth and detail of a novel. It’s best if you can forget the actors in the movie because the casting was bad. The narrator delivers a better performance than most in the movie. I was pleasantly surprised with this.

Fast paced but good book

Overall the story of the book is great. The way it was written is a bit fast paced for a book but wasn't bad. One thing to mention is that the book jumps from character to character very fast so be sure you listen closely.

WoW player

I love the stories and lore of World of Warcraft. But I don't believe there's anyone from the streets of Great Britain living there! And I know of no Orc who lives in Europe either!
Also, the beginning of several chapters are cut of and hard to hear.
Other than that, it kept me entertained on my trip from Hays Kansas to Richfield Utah. 👍👍👍
