About this listen
Ray Carpenter is a glass-half-full control freak who just wants the world to make sense. When the Warp suddenly descends on humanity, though, bizarre mental illnesses strike adults all over the globe and throw his life into chaos. Ray's mother becomes convinced that her right hand is a parasite, his wife is gripped by the notion that she's a corpse, and Ray himself is haunted by delusions that his loved ones are imposters.
As the adults grapple with madness, grotesque transformations alter the children. Ray's son develops strange bumps on his skin and an unsettling sixth sense, while his behavior grows increasingly incomprehensible and ever-more disturbing.
Ray struggles to hold onto his sanity and his family, but as the Warp twists reality, it may change them all into monsters.

Dark reality - Warped Brood
Warped Brood is a remarkable addition to the realm of dark science fiction, seamlessly blending elements of Bizarro with a thought-provoking narrative. The author's exploration of psychological themes, such as the struggles of the main characters to cope with the changing situation, adds a layer of depth and intrigue to the story. Warped Brood captures the unsettling feeling of uncertainty and change, painting a vivid picture of a world on the brink of collapse. As the characters grapple with bizarre mental illnesses and transformations, the narrative takes on a haunting quality that lingers long after the audiobook player stopped. Stadt masterfully crafts a tale that is equal parts tense, gripping, and intelligent. From the eerie delusions plaguing the adults to the mysterious changes occurring in the children, every aspect of the story is designed to keep readers on the edge of their seats. In Warped Brood, Stadt offers a unique vision of the apocalypse. Fans of dark fiction and Bizarro will find much to love in this novel.

Would make a great tv show
Warped Brood is one of those rare audiobooks that have you hooked from the start and you just never get bored. It's got an interesting story and is well written. In fact, I think it would make for a great tv show. Something like The Leftovers.

A psychological horror that will make you think.
I was given a copy of the book for an honest review. This was an interesting take on an alien invasion. The story follows Ray, his wife Mia, and their son Nick. One day the citizens of the town start acting strange and the kids start to have physical changes.
Slow at first, but things accelerate and we see how the this affects Ray and his family.
This story brought up a lot of philosophy and made you think about what you would do in a similar situation while being unsettling and creepy. The book read like a psychological horror movie and I would like to see this turned into one as well.
