What listeners say about Washington's Lady

Highly rated for:

The Audiobook Provides A Fictionalized Account Of Martha Washington's Life, Focusing On Her Love Story With George Washington, Her Experiences During The Revolutionary War, And Her Role As The First First Lady. While Some Reviewers Appreciated The Engaging Narrative And Vivid Historical Portrayal, Others Felt It Lacked Depth And Relied Too Heavily On Fictional Embellishments And Idealized Nationalism. The Book Offers A Personal Perspective On Historical Events, Highlighting The Struggles Martha Endured And Her Dedication To Her Husband And The Nation. Overall, It Presents A Compelling Character Depiction Of Martha Washington, Though Its Historical Accuracy Is Somewhat Compromised For The Sake Of Storytelling.

Favorite Book I've Ever Read!

There were to many moments to count where I found myself so admiring Marta Washington! I just love her! Not only for her relationship with George Washington, but everyone she meets. This book was so well written I feel like II know Martha personally. Wish there were more Martha's in this world.

Woman of Faith and Courage

Before listening to this audiobook, I knew very little about either our first president, George Washington, or his bride, Martha Washington. I learned more about the time period and family in this interesting account of their lives.

This novel is written from the perspective of Martha Washington, and the audio version has a narrator whose voice, inflections, and moderation are very well done, one that I could easily listen to.

I wasn’t aware of the tragedies faced by the Washington’s, more specifically Martha. Their faith in the Lord made a huge difference in how they went through each crisis. Martha was an amazing woman to be able to provide the support George Washington needed throughout the Revolutionary War and his presidency. The devastating conditions faced through the war were not detailed. I was surprised at how much Martha was able to help George and his troops. She was definitely a woman I would have liked to know and was very well portrayed in this novel. I highly recommend this to those who appreciate historical novels about people who made huge contributions to our country and how their relationship with the Lord helped them through the challenges they faced.

I’m so thankful that this book was brought into my life!

Not only is this book very well written, but it was so incredibly exciting to learn about George and Martha Washington in a way that I never could have just from history books! I now have a new appreciation for what they both did for our country! I’ll never forget this book!

Excellent Book!

Must read! The Washington's life was a difficult one but they loved each other dearly. I enjoyed how the author really brought these historical people to life and made them real. She showed how you can overcome obstacles and long separations and still be devoted to one another. Will listen to this book again and again.

Great!

I thought this was a great read. It really made my past visit to Mt Vernon come alive. It was a real love story and showed their dedication not only to each other but to our new country. The word "providence" is used often in this book.
Providence it was for our first President and his
lady.
Good narration and should be a recommended read for all teens to read. As Americans they can
relive the sacrifice that many men and women made
for their freedom.

Washington’s Lady

I learned so much of our early American History & culture. It was also, enjoyable to read. I just wish our country still held the conviction, honor, values, beliefs and faith as George Washington’s example to our country.

A book to remember

I picked this book on a lark. However, I found it charming. This is not an in depth history, It told in the perspective of a the memories of Martha Washington. Quite enjoyable

Martha was a strong lady

We recently visited Mount Vernon for the first time so I became intrigued with George and Martha. I loved reading about their love for each other and their devotion to the cause of the United States of America. Their first love was that of Jesus Christ and serving Him. They went through so much and never lost their faith.
