About this listen
Avoid spoilers. Don’t get fired. Defeat a not-so-fictional supervillain?
Seventeen-year-old fangirl Rosemary Collins lives for VIGIL & ANTE Studios movies. From action-packed superhero fights to sweet character moments, she’s here for it all. But in a real-life crossover no one saw coming, the fandom’s heartthrob supervillain, Ironfall, isn’t as fictional as the film studio wants her to believe. Beyond the glamorous red carpet lies the government’s most guarded secret: the movies are real.
Armed with a devilish grin and a wit as sharp as his knives, Ironfall needs her help, and refusing means he’ll kill her parents. Her only other option involves spying on him for the government’s secret superhero division. Suspended between fact and what she thought was fiction, Rosemary must join her heroes and create an impenetrable web of lies—or guarantee her parents’ safety as she watches the world burn at its adored villain’s hand.
Perfect for fans of pop culture and comics, WE COULD BE VILLAINS packs an entire cinematic universe into a book. Join Rosemary and the not-so-fictional heroes (and villains!) of the VIGIL & ANTE films in this imaginative science fiction where superhero battles equal publicity stunts, fictional characters become family, and the villain just might steal your heart.

Can I be a superhero
This audiobook was great. Dana Allen does a great job with character voices and with breaking up interrogation files/notes from the rest of the storyline in her reading. I read this at 2x speed and still found it very easy to follow and to continue with understanding of the book and its details. I really enjoyed this.

What if superheroes were real?
A fun, fast-paced adventure full of supervillains, secret agents, and quippy one-liners. Definitely recommend for Marvel/DC fans, and it's squeaky clean, so I'd absolutely hand it to a teen or tween super fan. Four stars!

A Quirky Superhero Adventure
This story had everything—mystery, romance, action, betrayal, and, of course, superheroes—basically all the ingredients for a great adventure. Sam’s voice was… unique. It was so bad it actually became hilarious, and I’m pretty sure that had to be intentional. While it didn’t always make for the easiest listening experience it added a bit of quirk to the story.
The narrator did an excellent job overall, injecting just the right amount of energy and fun. This fresh, out-of-the-box story delivered on entertainment. I’m looking forward to diving into the next book in the series.

I will definitely read book two!
I enjoyed this book so much. It's been on my TBR for a while and I was so excited to be able to get to the audiobook. I thought the narrator did a great job. There was only one voice (for a side character) that was a bit nasally for me. Otherwise, wonderful audiobook. Highly recommend for this format.
The story is solid. I thought it was clever to have the actual superheroes be actors and such to hide their identities. It's a good juxtaposition to Rosemary and her life. There were some moments I didn't expect and I loved the action scenes. I'm very intrigued by the subtle romance and I think this ended at the perfect spot. And even better, this is a true YA book. No language, kisses only, there's some violence but it's not overly graphic or gory. Easy recommend.

A tense, superhero adventure!
I immensely enjoyed getting to reread this story in audio form! Dana really brought to life the characters and tense setting with her dynamic voice. The second half is thrilling as things pick up and we engage in all the action. Can’t wait to get to book 2!
