Publisher's summary

Ditched by her high school sweetheart, Callum Archer, on the night they're supposed to elope, Jo Kendall casts out on her own, brokenhearted.

Over the years, Jo reels in a life she loves, centered on the outdoors, fishing (favoring a lucky wedding band lure), and her fine dining restaurant - a life that crashes away when her husband and business partner cheats her, leaving her bankrupt and alone.

Then her uncle dies, bequeathing Jo and her sister, Samantha, his rural property. Jo returns to Greenridge determined to build a new business and permanent home - without the help of a man. Unfortunately, Samantha wants her inheritance in cold, hard cash and hires a lawyer to get it for her, a lawyer who turns out to be none other than Jo's long-lost love, Callum.

Jo's fledgling plans - and her heart - are at risk once more.

If Jo can fight her insecurities, she might end up with a wedding band that doesn't come with a sharp hook. But should she risk everything she's worked for, yet again? Before she can decide, she needs to know: Can a lost love truly be reclaimed?

Wonderful, the beginning of one of my fave series!

I read and reviewed the ebook of Wedding Bands back in January 2015. I loved it then and I loved it now as an audio book. Below, I'm posting a copy of my original review for the ebook. The only thing I want to add is that I enjoyed the narrator for this book and I'm looking forward to listening to the next one in the series when it comes out in audio.

My husband and I often listen to books together. He only got in at the tail end of this one and listened to the preview for Hooked. His comment to me was - do you have a copy of it? When I asked why, he said he wants to find out how it turns out. So be warned, after you listen to Wedding Bands you will really want to listen to Hooked when it comes out!

Here's my original review for Wedding Bands:

I love reading about alpha heroes – you know, books where you kind of have to suspend reality a bit but enjoy them for what they are – but Wedding Bands doesn’t have an alpha hero. What it does have are believable, realistic, “normal” characters and a good “second chance” story. This is a type of romance that I love and a nice change from all of the billionaire, CEO, alpha male type books (which I also enjoy).

Jo and Callum were in love when they were young but family issues kept them apart and their own insecurities also kept them apart. They meet again many years later but things don’t really go well. There is a lot of back and forth, with major insecurities still for both of them. My only very minor criticism of the book is that I think there was maybe just a touch too much back and forth with their situation – but just a little too much. This is still a wonderful story about second chances with an element of surprise that I didn’t see coming.

Ev Bishop does a great job of enticing you to read the next book while at the same time giving you a complete story without a cliffhanger for the main characters. If you are like me, though, you will want to read the next story to find out what happens to Jo’s sister.

What Is The Real Truth?

I enjoyed the storyline of this audiobook very much. The characters were very believable. It was close to what real life tends to be. Misunderstandings and lack of communication.

The narrator was good and it was great to listen to her. If you get this audiobook I’m sure that you will enjoy listening to it also.

Wedding bands

This book is a great second chance story. Jo and Callum fall in love when in high school and after some very sad circumstances they miss out on their happy ever after. Many years later Jo comes back to town to deal with family things and meets Callum again. Through quite a few mishaps they are finally able to find their happy ending. There is more in this series and look forward to hearing about Sams story.

A lastly love after a failed beginning

This is definitely a second chance romance.
Your heart has to go out to both Jo Kendall and Callum Archer. The deceit, lies, and supposed betrayal they both struggle through only make this story richer and stronger for the second chance they get in the end and there new life together.
Thank you Ev Bishop for gifting me this audible book, for a fair and honest review.

Second chance at love

Jo and Callum were high school sweethearts who had grand plans for their futures. Missed connections and lack of communication prevented their happily ever after from happening all those years ago.

There were times while I was listening that I wanted to shake both of them, lock them in a room, and make them talk it all out! But, their childhood experiences prevented them from being able to do so.

Great second chance story!

Wedding Bands

This book was an easy, comfortable to listen to. The description and internal dialogue of the characters was excellent.and Iit was hard to put down and would say I did so with Jo and Callum's story. I love a good second chance romance.

Sweet second chance romance

I really enjoyed this book. Both the author and the narrator were new to me and are both someone I would look for again. This is also a clean romance with no sex scenes or bad language so definitely not one that you have to make sure you've  got headphones in or that it doesn't accidentally start playing in your purse.

This book is a second chance romance for Jo and Callum. Jo inherits her uncle's land and cabin and has dreams of turning it into a bed-and-breakfast the only downside she owns it with her sister Sam. Sam cannot see Jo's vision (or more realistically how she'll pay for it) abc hires Callum to help with deal with the Estates. Jo and Callum reconnect and through a series of misunderstanding after misunderstanding after misunderstanding (you really do want to shake them and just say sit down and talk to each other), eventually they get to the point where they have sorted out their whole mess and really do have a sweet love story. The story also includes a peek into Sam's life and what the next book may bring. I really couldn't stop listening to find out the will they won't they sort out their mess and also the what happens next.

This is definitely one where I will be getting the next in the series.

Sweet Second Chance to Love

This was my first Ev Bishop's book. This is the first book in the River's Sigh B & B Series. This is a sweet and clean second chance to love. After 15 years, Jo (Josephin) and Callum have finally their second chance to love and their story is beautiful. The narrator was also new to me. She has a good voice, easy to listen. I enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review. I'd love to listen to Samantha's story (Sam), Hooked, the next book in the Series.

Sweet romance with great narration

If you are looking for a clean second chance romance this is the one for you. The narrator, Sarah Grant, was new to me and I enjoyed her crisp clear delivery.
