Publisher's summary

“God’s eternal plan for us involves our body. We can’t write off our physical life as spiritually irrelevant.” (Sam Allberry)

There’s a danger in focusing too much on the body. There’s also a danger in not valuing it enough. In fact, the Bible has lots to say about the body. With the coming of Jesus, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” — flesh that was pierced and crushed for the sins of the world.

In What God Has to Say about Our Bodies, Sam Allberry explains that all of us are fearfully and wonderfully made, and should regard our physicality as a gift. He offers biblical guidance for living, including understanding gender, sexuality, and identity; dealing with aging, illness, and death; and considering the physical future hope that we have in Christ.

In this powerful audiobook, you’ll gain a new understanding for the immeasurable value of our bodies and God’s ultimate plan to redeem them.

A much needed book for our culture right now!

Sam Allberry explains a biblical view of our bodies and what they mean to us and God and how we should understand and treat our bodies. It is a much needed perspective and is very relevant to our society and culture right now. Great book, will probably reread it every once in awhile to be reminded of these very insightful, practical and spiritual things about our body.

freeing, timely message!

Such a freeing, timely message!! Especially the last chapter. This book has been such a helpful capstone to my recent topical reading of 2 other books on the topic of our bodies! I’ll be sharing this one with friends!

So so helpful!

Sam explains the importance of our bodies and also empathizes and sympathizes with those who are not okay with their own bodies. I love how he uses Scripture so well to remind us of what God has to say about our bodies.

Amazing

This book is easy to read and full of AHA moments! There is so much about our physical bodies in the Bible that I have managed to miss in my entire life as a Christian. I used this book to lead our church mental health life group sessions this semester and I have recommended it to EVERYONE I meet. LITERALLY EVERYONE. Because you will not meet a person who 1) wasn't created by God, 2) isn't loved by God, and 3) doesn't struggle with themselves in one way or another.

Recommend

The author explains about our body through Gods eyes. He further speaks of everything that comes with our misguided perception of our own body in a way that is completely understandable and relatable. He is full of grace and empathy for the person who is searching for freedom from shame.
