What happens in the heart when it experiences real saving faith? John Piper argues that faith in Christ is not saving unless it includes an "affectional dimension of treasuring Christ." Nor is God glorified as he ought to be unless he is treasured in being trusted. Saving faith in Jesus Christ welcomes him forever as our supreme and inexhaustible pleasure.
What Is Saving Faith? explains that a Savior who is treasured for his all-satisfying worth is more glorified than a Savior who is only trusted for his all-forgiving competence. In this way, saving faith reaches its God-appointed goal: the perfections of Christ glorified by our being satisfied in him forever.

Great description of what it really means to be saved

As for the content, this is Piper at his most mature. John has always been provocative - intentionally so - as a way to say things in an attention capturing and heart stimulating way. But in this book, he is most careful to not be misunderstood. I find this book to be a more technical read (though not difficult to read). It requires patience…thinking…and an open Bible:
In a day when that slippery snake called “antinomianism” is the accepted version of Christian living, this book equips Christians with a biblical and theological response on par with The Gospel According to Jesus in its timeliness and prophetic message!
I say all that knowing I am quite biased coming from a Reformed perspective and years of reading English Puritans. Unlike many of Piper’s books, this one may not get so favorable a response from those not sharing this theological perspective. But even if you disagree with his conclusions, you will benefit from his exegesis and his passionate appeal. If anything, you will most certainly know with clarity what it is you don’t agree with.
Excellent content…excellently read!

What question could be more important (now, and eternally)?
John Piper will challenge the listener, and Michael Beck accompanies with as fine a narrative reading as one could desire.
If the listener is blown away by this audiobook- one ought to consider acquiring "Providence" on ab as well (esp. those who delight in majestic treatments at length, with all the painful and glorious truths dealt with in that excellent audiobook).
Yes, this audiobook is well-worth getting
