About this listen

The creator of Twiniversity.com delivers the ultimate survival guide for parents of twins.

There's no doubt that having twins is challenging. First, there's the pregnancy. But after the twins arrive, the real work begins: coordinating sleep schedules, feeding two babies at the same time, buying five hundred diapers a month while saving enough to send two kids to college in 18 years, and maintaining your own sanity throughout. But it's also incredibly rewarding - if you're well prepared!

In What to Do When You're Having Two, national twins guru and founder of Twiniversity - and mother of twins herself! - Natalie Diaz provides a no-holds-barred resource about life with twins, from pregnancy and birth all the way through your duo's first year of life.

Funny, reassuring, and full of stories and advice, this life-saving book covers making a birth plan checklist; overcoming the challenges of premature delivery and the neonatal intensive care unit; sticking to one sleep schedule; double-duty breastfeeding; must-have gear, including a guide to double strollers; keeping your sanity and your finances under control; and building one-on-one relationships with each child early.

Packed with tried-and-true tips from the trenches, this is the must-have survival guide for parents of twins.

Great Primer for Twins

If you are having twins, I’d highly recommend reading this to help get prepared. It’s fairly comprehensive. It addresses several questions I had. It’s also quite useful as a reminder of all the key things you need to have ready or be prepared to do once the bubs arrive. It’s not entirely scientific and in some places amounts to hearing the authors opinion. However her contact with many many twin parents probably means this is a very well informed opinion. The narrator does a very good job.

Truly the Best Twin book I’ve read!

I purchase the audiobook when I first found out I was expecting twins. I was so overwhelmed and I wasn’t sure where to even start. The book was so beneficial from what to register for, questions to ask your doctor and everything in between. I learned so much that I’ve went back and listening to it twice!

Can't imagine better preparation for twins.

Had to read this as a birth/postpartum doula certification assignment and I really found a lot of value in it. I will be recommending it to all twin parents. The narrator was great, also. She has the perfect tone of voice. A great blend of humorous undertone with "We're in this together, friend", and some "This is a special club to be a part of". It was great, truly.

Actual mother of twins: Not satisfied

This is not a genuine guidebook for people who are actively the mother of twin infants. This is a "great" read for expectant mothers of multiples to try to alleviate anxiety for the task ahead, but this should not be relied upon as a guide going into this experience. It's far too vague where it needs to be specific. I can see this serving as a comfort to someone who is not there yet, but it is too general for someone thats actually there right now and would prefer the granular details. This is armchair nannying at best. Im the mother of 8 month old boy/girl twins (they are not easy babies either) and I'm having to pick my eyes up off the floor at times because I'm rolling them so hard at the things this person says. Related, whoever is narrating is annoyingly smug. And don't get me started on the financial chapter. Completely tone deaf and classist (Just skip out on ordering Starbucks, this and that, and soooooon enough you can afford those ungodly expensive medical bills!")

I'm still looking for good answers, this isn't it.

extremely dated

Must've been written more then 10 years ago with no updates making much of it unusable.

Nothing was good about this book,

It’s a given that most people will buy two of everything, it’s a given that things will get expensive. This book was not very helpful.
