the story was ok, I listened to the end because I wanted to know the conclusion but seemed rushed and lack luster. Also did not like the narrators Hispanic accent 😑

I truly enjoyed this book. There were parts in the middle I thought was slow but it picked up really good. I couldn’t stop because the plot was so interesting.

The narrator was horrid, it was like listening to the fake voice no inflections or character.

It appears to be a simple family story, but it is, in fact, story of a great sacrifice, secrets and abuse. Definitely moving!

What a great book, better than I expected. Full of suspense and unexpected turns. Love all the strong women in the story.

Engaging story line . . . each character has secrets and plot twists and turns . . . they are all revealed at the end. It's kind of a combination heartwarming drama, and mystery. Really enjoyed all the characters development. Kept my interest all the way through.

Half mystery half drama

Six chapters in and already another book about a silly, inept, weak, grown woman who can't make decisions on her own and whose 12 year old daughter is more mature and stable than she. I guess I'll stick it out and finish this since I paid for it. Ugggggg there should be a warning label or a specific genre in Kindle/Audible for authors who have no grasp on reality and continue to write this dribble. Sorry not sorry.

Nothing is ever as it seems! The layers of this family's life will be with me for a long time. Fiction or not, ALL plausible! I enjoyed this story and the feelings it brought out in me!
