Great Story! Great Narration!

Whispers in Time by Brenda M Spalding pulled me in from the very beginning. I so enjoy stories that have hidden things and ghosts. The author wrote this book with incredible imagery. I loved the mystery in the story, and how the old home was being renovated. The characters were also well developed. This book is the second in the series and a standalone listen. The narrator, Eliza Wethers did a great performance. She added to the book with her distinguishable voices for the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Enjoyable suspenseful listen

I thought this was a great addition to the series. I got to visit with some old characters I loved and got to meet some new ones. I enjoyed the mystery, suspense and the romance. The characters are easy to like, Megan is a sweet woman who hasn’t visit her grandmother for a while, life is busy, she meant to. When she learns her grandmother died she goes home only to find mystery about herself and her grandmother. Could this be murder and is someone trying to kill her.

The narrator did a good job, loved her character voices and the emotion she gives them. Her normal voice is pleasant, but she reads a little too fast she does bring the character to life. She truly made me believe in the danger, excitement, and even gave me a few chills. The audio was clear, no background noises. She really put emotion into the characters, pausing when she needed to. Her tones were right even her old voices were delightful. I had no trouble believing what I was listening to. I thought her performance with the character was outstanding.

I really enjoyed the listen and look forward to more books in this series. The author did a great job keeping the reader in suspense and guessing who did what is hard. The plot was great keep the reader entertained.

Another great Green Lady Inn story

I was excited to listen to Book 2 of this series as the first was fantastic. We get to hear more about characters from the first book and meet new ones as well. More mystery and suspense along with some light romance and just good hearted story telling.

Continuing adventures of Megan and Jake

This is the second book about Megan and Jake. This book finds them about to open a bed and breakfast in a house that has belonged to Megan's family for many generations. Megan starts experiencing feedback about certain items and has the premonition that something is going to happen. And it does in ways she couldn't begin to imagine.
I had the feeling this story wasn't as developed as book number one as there were several areas of the plot that didn't seem to be as developed as I expected. I did enjoy the main mystery and seeing how that worked itself out. It was some of the offshoots of the plot that were missing. An example being when Megan walked in a room and discovered a ghost or spirit. She asked if it was a friend or enemy, received an answer and then walked out. If that was me, I would have asked the spirit a few more questions!
The narrator did a good job of characters and the narration, but it was just a tad too fast for my liking. I didn't play around with the speed of the audio, so that might have helped. I also think there was a moment of the narrator clearing her throat that should have been edited out of the recording (39:45).
All in all, I enjoyed the story and the narration and am looking forward to book 3.
