About this listen

Power. That’s what I think of when I spot him across the ER. Power and danger.

One of the wealthiest Russian oligarchs, Alex Volkov is as ruthless as he is magnetic. He always gets what he wants, and what he wants is me, in his bed.

He’s the kind of trouble every woman should run from. The bullet his bodyguard took for him proves that.

I should stay far away, but for one night, I give in to temptation. Before I know it, he’s pulling me deeper into his world of excess and violence, invading not only my life but my heart.

How much trust can I place in a man so dangerous? How much do I dare risk for his love?

Interesting needed more character details

Was interesting. This back and forth with the characters was exhausting. Kate was the most frustrating because even when she got what she wanted out of Alex, it still wasn't enough. Alex runs multiple billion dollar companies but Kate still thinks he has all the time in the world to romance her and when he does she still upset cause it not the way she wanted to be romanced, but she never told him how she wanted to be romanced. He did what he thought most men do, since he has never dated before he had no clue. This is what is so frustrating about women like Kate. She expected Alex to know her so well just after one or two dates, to know exactly how she would like to be romanced. I mean come on, this is setting unrealistic standards for Alex. Plus Alex is dealing with someone trying to kill him and he still finds time for Kate and that still isn't good enough for her. Also the parts where we hear the from the assassin and the person who hired him don't seem to fit in the story. I would have liked to hear from Alex and his musing and what he is thinking but no such luck. We heard alot about Kate and her back ground and family and exes, but nothing about Alex and his family and back ground. I wanted to read this book because of how he was described in "Angel's Cage." There was more detail about Alex and his character in a book not even about him then in this one. Hopefully the second book in this duet series will be better. The back ground of Alex and why he is so possessive and demanding needs to be explained and hopefully from his prospective. This first book left so many holes in the Alex character to have any real connection with him and Kate came off as confusing and insecure.

So good!

This book was so good. Alex was a very dangerous man but hard not to fall for. Once Kate became involved with him, he practically took over her life. I love what he did for her mother. At times, Kate could be very annoying and for such a smart nurse, it seems she could not get it through her head that Alex only wanted to protect her. She should know he was trouble by the way they met but that is love for you. The book ended on a cliffhanger and Kate acting stubborn and clueless. I am looking forward to listening to Midnight Days. CJ Bloom and Sebastian York did a great job with the narration, although CJ Bloom narrated most of the book.

Great story but...

It was mostly the female narrator playing both parts. it would have been better with more of the male narrator.

overall great story and will start listening to Midnight Days.

Love the story

Loved this story and can't wait to continue it.
The narrations I wasn't fond of. When I think of a Russian man I think of a big deep booming voice. Sebastian York, to me just didn't have the voice for this. CJ Bloom to a great job in my opinion.

Make a decision already

I admit I fast-forwarded through a lot of parts where Catherine went on and on about should I, shouldn’t I? Should I, shouldn’t I! It got very tedious. Be

a great story to listen to

I loved White Nights from beginning to end. Alex is definitely on my list of book boyfriends ;-) he's just the right mix of power and possessiveness. The chemistry between Alex and Katerina is electric and one I enjoyed the narrator's and look forward to Midnight Days.

5 STARS

I absolutely loved this book! Alex was everything I like in an anti-hero. He was jealous possessive, mysterious and didn't back off once his mind was made up. He gave me tingles every time he took charge. Kate is such a kind person and a little over her head when it comes to Alex's world. She did try to put up some resistance but Alex is a force. There is plenty of steamy scenes as well as some sweet ones. The book ends with a lot of questions and I can't wait to for the next book.

Narration was perfect! CJ did a great job with the accent IMO. SebYo only narrates a few chapters.

Suspenseful!

I have read this story, and the audiobook version is amazing! This is the first book in the White Nights Series, a Dark Mafia Romance. Kate and Alex's story is grippingly suspenseful, intricate, and captivating. The storyline has action, steamy scenes, and some unexpected twists and turns. Impossible to put it down. CJ Bloom and Sebastian York did an outstanding job with the narration. Bloom as Kate is amazing. York as Alex Volkov is magnificent. I love their voices together. This is another fantastic collaboration between Anna Zaires and Charmaine Pauls, two of my favorite authors! This is an excellent team authors/narrators. Now, I need more! Looking forward to listening to Midnight Days, the second book in the Duet, to know what happens next. I enjoyed it, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Enjoyable

Liked the story although Kate was somewhere annoying. Didn’t like the fact that she narrated both characters though. Overall a good listen.

Absolutely sizzles!

Audiobook: Narrators - CJ Bloom & Sebastian York

These narrators did an excellent job of bringing Alex and Kate to life. Some of these characters spoke with an accent and they both did a very nice job of adding that to the story. The sizzle and intensity between these characters was tangible in the voices of both Bloom and York.

The story itself is filled with alpha goodness, relatively low in angst but with the threat of danger lurking behind each page making me anticipate when it was all going to unravel. This is mostly about the build up of the relationship but it’s filled with some steamy smexy moments.

Definitely worth listening to but be forewarned, this ends in a cliffhanger! However, the next book isn’t too far behind. I can’t wait!
