Publisher's summary

An inspiring audiobook that will help listeners rediscover their values and discover a way to truly live life to the fullest.

Each of us has an enormous capacity for love - a deep well of attention and care that we can offer to ourselves and others. With guidance that is both simple and wholly transformative, Koshin Paley Ellison, Zen teacher and psychotherapist, shows us how to uncover it: pay attention, be of service, and be with others.

With this inspiring and down-to-earth audiobook, drawn from the Zen precepts and illustrated with anecdotes from Koshin’s own life and practice, you’ll learn how to:

  • explore and investigate with your own core values,
  • identify the mental habits that could be unconsciously hurting yourself and others, and
  • overcome isolation.

Each section closes with a contemplation to help integrate the teachings into your life.

This audiobook is about getting back in touch with your values, so you can live energetically, authentically, and lovingly. This an invitation to close the gaps we create between ourselves and others-to wake up to ourselves and the world around us.

It’s time to live wholeheartedly.

Wow.

Just Wow. Ok Ok.....I’ll elaborate for the sake of encouragement. :) The stories are relatable and the truth spoken applies universally. Your desire to move in the direction of your values and authentic core will be stirred. Lean in (preaching to myself here). Thank You for the courage and vulnerability and love that went into this. God is on display in and through You!

Wonderful story teller with wise advice to live by

I've had the pleasure of listening to Koshin Paley Ellison a few times in person and he is a beautiful presence with a wonderful smile and a twinkle in his eyes. His book is a series of chapters that becomes interwoven with stories from his life and the wisdom of his precepts. He gives you what he's learned and asks the reader/listener a few questions at the end of each chapter to think about. It's only a little over four hours long. Find a quite place, make a cup of tea/coffee, turn off your phone and just listen. "When this day has passed, your days of life will be decreases by one," he writes. So spend a few hours with him. If nothing, you'll be a little wiser and more at peace. Thank you Koshin.

One word: BEAUTIFUL

Koshin pours his life and heart out onto the pages. I felt I got to know him and learned from his struggles. I got inspired by his application of zen teachings onto his tragedies and joys. I laughed and was constantly entertained by the New Yorker in him. I listened to him every morning through the audible book and it soothed me. I will miss mornings with him. highly recommended for anyone looking for an honest vulnerable transformation, or just a great read by a very special human.
