Suehyla El-Attar
Eva Perino is single and proud of it. So proud, in fact, that she regularly boasts about it in her blog, Why I Love Singlehood. But upon learning of her ex-boyfriend’s engagement, Eva discovers her foundation is weaker than her façade. So begins a clumsy (and occasionally uproarious) search for love as she secretly joins an online dating site, tries her hand at speed dating, and gets involved with one of the regulars at her coffee shop, The Grounds.
But the self-prescribed “experiment” quickly unravels as Eva witnesses the trials and tribulations of her best friend Minerva’s marriage, her sister’s suburban family, her manager Norman’s possible crush on her, and the one guy she can’t seem to stop thinking about. Soon, Eva’s simple search for a date becomes a deeper exploration of love - sexual, platonic, and familial - and a powerful examination of who (or what) is the true love of her life.
Sparkling with warmth and wit, Why I Love Singlehood is a delicious and insightful must-listen for anyone - single or otherwise - who has ever been stymied by love.

What did you love best about Why I Love Singlehood?
The book had humor, it was smart and kept me interested. I would read/listen to another by this author if she had one. What other book might you compare Why I Love Singlehood to and why?
The humor of the book reminds me of the characters in a Mary Kay Andrews novel. The women were smart, sharp and independent, but had a soft side.Which scene was your favorite?
The twist of the scene on the campus with the fire. It was totally unexpected- great tie inWas this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Unfortunately I don't have the time to listen a book in one sitting, but if I could, this one would have been worth it.Very Witty - Felt like the narration of my life

Would you listen to Why I Love Singlehood again? Why?
I don't typically re-visit stories, but if I were to re-visit one WILS would be it. It was a very well written, enjoyable story that is believable even though I cannot personally relate to the perspective of the protagonist. What was one of the most memorable moments of Why I Love Singlehood?
The story wasn't typical for the genre with a lot of highs, lows, and theatrical drama. It was really just a great read that was representative of what I imagine life may hold for many 30-something singles. No one particular moment stands out - it was simply a great story all around. What does Suehyla El-Attar bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Suehyla provided the best audio-book performance I have ever read. I found myself checking the credits to verify that it was truly a singular narration. Her performance was just that - a performance. Many narrators simply read the text with different voices, however Ms. El-Attar brought the story to life as if it were being performed on a stage. She is truly gifted! If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"From the Grounds up"Any additional comments?
Great story! A very enjoyable listen for my workday commute time.Engaging story and an even better performance

Have you listened to any of Suehyla El-Attar’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to a few other performances of Suehyla El-Attar before. I really like her narrating style. This one was just like the others: it was just good. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely! Before I knew I was halfway through and it was the middle of the night. I found that I didn't start listening to this story, I was in the story from the very first minute.
Any additional comments?
I like a nice romance now and then. Especially if the characters are likeable and Eva is very likeable. I could really relate to her too. I had the feeling I knew where she's coming from right from the beginning. All the other characters are likeable as well. It's easy to see why they're friends with Eva. I could even see my own friends in them. I especially liked Norman. The way Eva and he work together, laugh together and rationalise their relationship seems very familiar to me. I actually have a colleague like that.
This all adds up to quite a nice and lovely story with a good dose of humour.
