Kann der Flughund bellen? Ist der Python giftig?“Im Dschungel gibt es sehr viele verschiedene Tiere in ganz unterschiedlichen Größen und Farben. Manche sind tagaktiv und manche nachtaktiv. Aber was versteht man eigentlich unter einem Dschungel? Dschungel ist eine umgangssprachliche Bezeichnung für einen dichten Urwald in heißen und tropischen Weltgegenden. In Südamerika beispielsweise oder in Süd- und Südostasien findet man solche Wälder.
Leider wird immer mehr von diesem kostbaren Urwald abgeholzt; pro Minute etwa eine Fläche mit der Größe von 30 Fußballfeldern. Das alles nur, um Anbauflächen für Soja oder Platz für Palmöl-Plantagen zu schaffen. Das ist sehr schlecht für die Tiere, deren Lebensraum immer kleiner wird und von denen immer wieder Arten vom Aussterben bedroht sind. Aber es ist auch ganz schlecht für die Menschen. Der Dschungel und speziell die großen Regenwälder erzeugen den Sauerstoff, den alle Lebewesen zum Atmen brauchen. Schützen wir ihn gemeinsam!
