Publisher's summary

Weston “Major” Marian

After running away at the age of 17, I found a new home in the army. It wasn’t long before my fellow soldiers became my new family, giving purpose to my time in Vietnam.

But everything changes when Doc Wilde joins my medevac crew. A night alone in the jungle after a helicopter crash forces us to rely on each other for survival, the secrets we share cementing a bond between us deeper than any other I’ve known.

Doc begins to play a starring role in my late night fantasies even though I know he can never be anything more than a friend, a brother-in-arms. He’s straight, with a wife and kids back in Texas, and there would be devastating consequences if anyone in the army discovered my secret.

But Doc was never a lifer like me. When our tours end, we go our separate ways. He heads home to his perfect family while I continue to serve. I thought that was the end of our story. Turns out I was wrong.

Liam “Doc” Wilde

When I wind up on the front lines in Vietnam young and afraid, it’s Major Marian who comes to my rescue. He’s tough, brave, and quiet, and he vows to keep me safe. He’s the only reason I make it home to my wife and kids alive.

For some, a friendship like that might have ended once we left the jungle behind, but as time passes, our bond only continues to grow. Years later, when an unexpected illness turns my life upside down, Major is the first person I turn to for help, and he drops everything to rescue me as always.

I soon realize that at every step of my life, Major has been there, by my side, putting me first. All this time he’s been standing in the sidelines, waiting patiently to hand over his heart into my safekeeping.

I never imagined building a life with another man, but seeing Major in this new light is like a revelation. And suddenly I can’t imagine it any other way.

Happy tears

Got me! Michael Pauley delivers everytime! Lucy's words were so beautiful that my eyes were flooded with joy. So much so i couldnt see the road. I particularly loved how every other character from previous stories were included in this one. It's like that warm feeiling you get when you see old friends....amazing!

Well done!

The plot was predictable, but it’s expected as this was the much and long awaited life stories about the two most lovable grandfathers/dads in the Made Marian and Forever Wilde series. They were the groundbreaking foundation setting pair for acceptance and tolerance in their small home town in Texas.
I am so grateful to the author for Doc and Grandpa’s story. I listened to both Made Marian and Forever Wilde series and always wondered about the two elderly men who have been such fantastic role models to their children and the residents of their town. The humour was uplifting and it carried through the whole book. I found even the Glossary of Terms very funny. It was such an emotional rollercoaster. My tears were rolling, either from laughter or engrossed empathy. I found myself wishing it never ends. The HEA with 20 other gay family members from the two series was a perfect wrap up with a bow. It was a little overdone, but I can not think how it could have been done otherwise. Michael Pauley gave his best and did a fantastic job.
There were some clichéd parts, but Lucy Lennox written it extremely well. It was not cheesy at all. I enjoyed the audiobook with action physically happening in the Vietnam war. I could hear the author has done good research prior to writing the book. I would say this series is a trendsetter, and the audiobook was by far the best audiobook of the year. The world building was magnificent.
There were absolutely no unresolved issues after this audiobook.
I fell in love with the two characters a long time ago while listening to the earlier audiobooks in the series, but the infatuation was cemented in this book from the first chapter and it saddens me to know that this was the conclusion of the series.
Doc and Grandpa’s attraction and deep feelings grew almost unbelievable stronger for years. The men met each other in Vietnam. After an accident in the jungle, the two ended up saving one another and developed the start of a lifelong friendship.

Michael Pauley has a deep and sexy voice, it works for our characters. His M/M is just perfect and I can listen to him non-stop for hours. Sometimes he does hurt my ears with too deep and bass vibrations, but I think he did a wonderful job this time, as his voices were on PAR with the characters. The sounds were done professionally and passionately.
I definitely recommend listening to this audiobook, and it will surely be better appreciated when the two series are listened to first. Both the series are good, but my favorite is the Forever Wilde series.

Moving!!

Great book with so many layers! I'm glad the author allowed us to get to know the characters before writing this book. I loved everything about it - the enduring love over decades, the friendship, the loyalty, the sacrifice, the pain, the bond. Powerful!

Absolutely Beautiful!!

Kudos to Ms. Lennox for this excellent story, outlining "Doc" & the Major's history. A well fleshed out history of the incredible journey that shaped this strong and caring couple. I teared up during their sweet wedding vow renewals, and enjoyed the blending of the Wilde & Marion families. Nice touch.

Michael Dean did his best work on bringing this story to life. His voice radiated the pain, joy, and love that poured out of each & every chapter.

What a Ride

Lucy, this book had me crying and cheering so much. I was born in the 60s and I remember the hate and bigotry of the years that followed. Your book brought up so much of my own stuff I had to take breaks. I knew I had to finish because I knew you would bring it to a happy ever after. Something people of my generation need who lived through the good and very hard times. Thanks for writing this, because you were a part of a corrective experience for me. Sincerely, John

On my feet cheering!

Wilde Love left me speechless and in tears - bittersweet tears. For me, this story of how Doc Wilde and Major Marian met and fell in love while surviving a war, family tragedy, a long road to self-acceptance, pre-Y2K homophobia, and other realities tied all of the prior Made Marian and Forever Wilde novels together in a big , warm, gay hug.

This particular novel had me in tears at times and laughing out loud at others - perhaps because I lived through some of the same decades and experienced some of the harsh social conventions these men did. I'm hoping this isn't the end of these two series. I want to hear more!

Michael Pauly did a fantastic job voicing so many characters throughout these two series. And he deserves a standing ovation for his performance of the final chapter of this novel in which he had to uniquely voice almost every character from both series of novels in rapid fire.

An exceptional series of novels and an astounding performance on Audible!
