Publisher's summary

Aaron Whitworth hasn't had control over most aspects of his life, but he's always taken pride in being an honorable businessman and better-than-average horseman. When both of those claims are threatened, he makes the desperate decision to hire the horse trainer of a traveling circus as a temporary jockey for his racehorses.

Sophia Fitzroy knows that most horsemen don't take her seriously because she's a woman, but she can't pass up the opportunity to get away from the tumultuous world of travel and performing. As she fights for the right to do the work she was hired for, she learns the fight for Aaron's guarded heart might be an even more worthwhile challenge.

As secrets come to light and past vulnerabilities are confronted, will Aaron and Sophia sacrifice their former dreams and forge a new one together - against all odds?

Friendship, Romance, and Honor

I am beyond happy to finally read Aaron Whitworth’s story — to know him better, and to have him be truly known. This is such a lovely story of friendship, honor, and of course romance. Sophia is the perfect love interest for Aaron. She has plenty of mystery and history herself, along with a delightful attitude toward life and lots of spark and humor.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of Kristi Ann Hunter’s stories and this one is no exception. One of the aspects of her stories that I love most is that characters from previous stories continue to be part of her ongoing legacy of stories… And yet each book could stand on its own as well.

I also listened to some parts of this book on audiobook when that worked best for me and I will say that the narration was exceptionally well done as well.

Loved it

Listened to it the day it came out, love all her characters. They have become like family and I return to them again and again, sometimes to refresh my memory. All her book contain some of the same people, and it just feels like catching up with an old friend.

The romance kept me holding my breath

I was surprised to like this book even more than the first in the series. It did not have the feel of a sequel, but so enjoyable to get more of characters you already began to like from the first book. The author’s writing style is also gripping. I couldn’t turn it off. Like-able characters keeping your attention. What more do you need?

Interesting plot. unusual characters

Very well narrated, genuine skill with accents.
Believable characters with depth and interest.
The plot was engaging until the author decided to insert her usual religious messages, which feel forced and not really in line with the attributes of each character; it did not contribute to the story and in fact undermined their strong survival characteristics.

Better than book 1 in this series

Truly loved the characters and the plights they overcame! A fun read that brought in some characters from other books!

Recommend!

Fantastic and fun story. Narrator made it come alive with the accents. One of the more enjoyable books I've listened to in quite awhile. Loved the main characters and also the brother/sister relationship in this book. Thank you Kristi Ann Hunter for another great book!

I do really enjoy this narrators performance. I love her ability to represent all of the characters as well as their accents.

I absolutely love the friendship between these men and the friendship that develops with the women that they love and how they become like this big family. I really love how they accept Aaron despite his upbringing and status in society. it's so wonderful to hear about the other characters from the other books also in this story and to hear that kit was having a baby and I just love getting to see the development of the other characters in the background while focusing on Aaron in this story. I feel like I can be really, really picky about the books that I read and so it was really refreshing to find this author. I also love the way that she involves God in all of her stories and how he's not just an afterthought but becomes a part of the way that their stories weave together.

Love, love, LOVED this one!

I greatly enjoyed the first installment, and loved this one even more. Will there be a story for Rigby, or possibly Jonas? Whoever is next, I’m ready!

I also like this author’s writing. I plan to go through more of her catalogue.

Nice and sweet but predictable

It was just fine, but you knew it was coming and it took a long time to get there. But it was sweet.

Sweet story

A charming little story, Winning the Gentleman, lacks a strong challenge and a clear climax. It had been some time since I had read the first story in the series and I was confused about all of the characters. The author might have found a clearer way to introduce the secondary characters. Despite my criticism I did enjoy the book. It was an entertaining read.
