Publisher's summary

When Sasha Steinfeld sees Katie Morgan's engagement ring, she realizes it could have been her. If only she wasn't so frigid around men. Overcoming the past isn't easy, but Sasha knows she must if she ever wants to find the same happiness Katie has found.

The last person Forrest Tucker expects to see when he gets to his cabin is Sasha. He thinks Sasha is a bit different, although he's never concerned himself with why. Now she is trying to break into his cabin. When he realizes she's injured, Forrest does what any good citizen would do-if they were helping someone else.

When Forrest learns the secret behind Sasha's chilly personality, he sets out to help her thaw.

Great Story!

I don’t usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will be watching for this author in the future.

Another Sweet Susette Williams Romance

This is a short but sweet novella about overcoming some of the worst of humanity, seeing through and coming out on the other side – only with God's help.

Sasha has been assaulted and becomes distanced from everyone. She closes herself off, hiding under shapeless clothes and keeping the world at bay.

Forest doesn't know what's wrong, but he knows that Sasha is someone special. He can try to plan to help Sasha feel safer, and friendship begins.

*I received this book in exchange for this for writing this review. I believe that adding anything more to this review will spoil this short story. Between the publishers summary and this review, you should have enough information to make a decision about buying the book, I hope.

Allyson Voller's narration was excellent, and while limited to a pretty specific age group the narrator did a wonderful job giving each character his or her voice. None of the characters sounded like another, so this listener was always able to tell who is speaking. Great job!

Notes: Mature themes are subtly discussed. There is a bit of violence, as well.

A solid book that could easily be turned into a full-length novel.

Solid writing, storytelling and performing – four stars.

Cute and sensitive

Would you try another book from Susette Williams and/or Allyson Voller?

Probably not. They are so short and all have the same theme.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting part was having to overcome a sexual assault, but it would have been better if we had learned about it in a different manner. Some back story would have been very helpful.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I have heard this narrator before and I guess i was hoping for a better read and it was just the same. Not worse just not very inviting.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Some actual romance

Any additional comments?

Warm story on a chilly day!

Another wonderful listen by Susette Williams, this novella brings Sasha and Forest together. I love this short, feel good, wholesome romances. They are just long enough that I can listen while doing other things but Williams has a great way of developing the characters in that short period. There is nothing worse than listening to a book and not really getting a feel for who the people are. Sasha is a college student who has been a victim of date rape. Forest is an older student that also works at the school and happens upon Sasha trying to get into his house after her car runs off the road during a snowstorm. This unexpected turn of events leads them down a path of healing and love. You cannot help but just fall in love with the ever patient and calming Forest. He is a wonderful man(with a little anger issue at times when protectiveness comes into play) that is able to make Sasha once again feel and fall in love.

Allyson Vollers again brings a very calming and warm voice to this book. I am looking forward to the other two seasons!

A good Christian romance!

I was given this audio book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the story of Sasha and Forrest. Sasha had an encounter with an overly aggressive college classmate and has developed some pretty substantial issues with the opposite sex because of it. Forrest is the good guy who ends up doing whatever he can to protect her and make her more comfortable, even going so far as setting up a fake engagement to make the other guy back off. Is there anyway they can work toward making the engagement real?
My favorite part was when Sasha was trying to get into a house to warm up after she had put her car in a snowbank. She gets caught in a rather awkward position by the homeowner, who just happens to be Forrest! I actually thought this book was slightly better than the first.

Christian love story.

This novella is written with an obvious christian influence. Prepare yourself for praying and bible verses. Its a cutesy little story of a woman who has been assaulted and meets a man who helps her overcome her fears. One thing I really really did not like about 'Forrest' (the new man), is that he was super quick to anger and controlling. He even bunched up his fists while meeting the protagonists brother. I understand the author was attempting to make him seem protective but it was really over the top. I don't care what a mans relationship with god is, if he is this short tempered, I would never be ok with him dating my sister!
