Another winner from Maron

I always get so wrapped up in the events surrounding Margaret Maron‘s characters that I tend to lose track of the murder mystery. This one does an excellent job of wrapping the two together, as family members disappear and Dwight and Deborah have to unravel the question of what happened to them.

Another good one ... but ....

Still enjoying this good series. Love the characters and all the storylines surrounding the large Knott family. Excellent mystery in this story. My only criticism comes regarding the snide political remarks starting to creep in. I appreciate that the author has her views regarding past and present politicians, as we all do. But, if I wanted real life politics thrown in and her views, I'd read a book on politics instead of a mystery fiction book.

A nice unpredictable mystery

The storyline was a good mystery. I listened to the audible version and overall performance by C.J.Critt was very good as always. There was one thing I found to be odd -a 2 or 3 second pause of complete silence when most chapters ended. Then, the next chapter number would announce. Then, a few of the later chapters rushed to announce the next chapter and speedily moved into the content, seemed as if the beginning of the sentence was omitted. It was still easy to follow but a little off making the listener think that the story had been interrupted.

Loved it

I really liked this book. I like the way the author keeps the story line going and not constantly having flash backs . It kept me guessing until the last minutes.

Started and stopped this book several times. Finally gave up because I couldn't get into it. It's too verbose and the main character keeps on solving mysteries instead of "judging". This is just not my kind of book. DNF. I declare "uncle" on the series.
