About this listen

On a fateful night five centuries ago, three mages made a desperate last stand, sacrificing everything to preserve the only hope of goodness in the beautiful, doomed land of Alasea. Now, on the anniversary of that ominous night, a girl-child ripens into the heritage of lost power. But before she can even comprehend her terrible new gift, the Dark Lord dispatches his winged monsters to capture her and bring him the embryonic magic she embodies. Fleeing the minions of darkness, Elena is swept toward certain doom - and into the company of unexpected allies. There she forms a band of the hunted and the cursed, the outcasts and the outlaws, to battle the unstoppable forces of evil and rescue a once-glorious empire.

Dark, disturbing, and undeniably exciting.

James Clemens sumersaulted into my list of favorite authors with this series. He manages to capture these characters in such a way that you feel a connection with each and every one of them. When they feel pain, something inside of you wails right along with them, when one of them dies, a piece of you goes with them. His writing is intense, and unforgiving, and he should be proud of his ability to ignite a story that burns deeply into your brain until you finally finish it. Not just the one, but all 5 of them.

Awesome story even better with audible

The best fantasy novel I have ever read plain and simple as that. The audio book was well performed and the voices she does are enchanting and give the story even more life.

How have I not heard of this?

This book is really well written. It surprises me how there's not a fan wiki or web page or anything for it. I definitely recommend this for dark/epic fantasy fans.

Story is AMAZING, Voice is *sigh*....

I've loved this book for years! I love how it's written. The drama, the horror of the creatures, the descriptions of characters is wonderful. Performance was fine until you meet Tolchuk and Merrick. The voices used for them are horrific. If I didn't love the book so much, I would have stopped listening just because of how awful those voices are. Its not that I think they should speak/sound different because I envision it differently. The accents used are just terrible sounding. The speaker should have scrapped those voices and tried again.
Please read the book. Please listen to the book. But also, please know that some of the voices are cringey!

mesmerizing

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, the story keeps you involved and entertained.

What other book might you compare Wit'ch Fire to and why?

The Four Forges has a lot of the same type of characters. The two stories are full of excitement and keep the reader waiting to see what new twists are coming. Who is friend and who is foe.

What about Jennifer Van Dyck and Kevin Pariseau ’s performance did you like?

Excellent job, I could tell who was talking without the introduction, each voice took on its character and never lost the connection!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The death of Joche and Elaina's family!
