Publisher's summary

Dead billionaires are not good for business!

That's what Aunt Pearl complains to Cen when the dead body is found in the cozy family inn at Westwick Corners.

Still, it's not Cen's problem. She lives an ordinary life away from her witch-ful family for a reason. She got her ordinary fiancee, and her ordinary job as a journalist - using no magic whatsoever, and no inconvenient local murder is going to change her comfortable existence.

Even if the entire town is now accusing Aunt Pearl of murdering her guest. Even if her fiancee is acting weird and talking about seeing ghosts. Even if the town's sexy new sheriff, Tyler Gates, treats her like the most hexing of all the witches.

If you love funny cozy mysteries infused with a dose of humor and the supernatural, you'll love this paranormal witch cozy!

Witch You Well is the first audiobook in the Westwick Witches Cozy Mysteries series by Colleen Cross.

From the author:

Westwick Corners isn't your typical small town. Or even a normal ghost town. It's where people go not to be found, and witches go to work their magic without attracting too much attention. The combination makes from some interesting and humorous mysteries, and the witches are always at the center of the action!

Ruby's cooking, Cendrine's amateur sleuth and investigator activities, and Aunt Pearl's magic school are always looking for that one secret ingredient that will propel the witches to fame and fortune, and put the small town of Westwick Corners back on the map again. The witches are forever cooking up new business opportunities while they unravel riddles, spin magic spells, and create their own witch mysteries.

Fun Cozy Mystery

Although it was pretty easy to guess who the guilty parties were, it was great fun to watch Cen puzzle it out while trying to control her quirky relatives and keep the witches of Westwick a secret. The audiobook left some loose ends, particularly regarding Cen's romantic prospects, so I am hoping there are more books to come. The cast of characters was entertaining, and I would like to see more of them.

The narration was fantastic! Ms. Burchard did a wonderful job of giving different voices to different characters and capturing the sweetness of Cen, the curmudgeonly nature of Aunt Pearl and the ghostly presence of Grandma V, among others.

A Light and Entertaining Murder Mystery

If you could sum up Witch You Well in three words, what would they be?

Really good fun.

What other book might you compare Witch You Well to and why?

It somewhat resembles Dose Vidanya by Sam Cheever and Whiskey Witches by S.M. Blooding. All three involve apparent elements of the paranormal and all are murder mysteries with kickass heroines with a sense of humor.

What does Petrea Burchard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She reads very well and has a very expressive voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Aunt Pearl and Grandma's ghost consistently made me laugh. In general, it's a very funny mystery.

Hilarious adventure!

This entertaining mystery is a fun ride from beginning to end! The witches' banter makes the story so realistic that I can easily visualize them in action -- as well as the ghost and other well-rounded characters. The story has its fair share of twists and turns, and moves at a fast pace. Petrea Burchard did a wonderful job narrating the different character voices.

This book is great...loved the humor

I received this book for an honest review. This book was so enjoyable. I wish I had read/listen the other two books before this one. There was some things like grudges that evidently been addressed in the other books. But as a stand alone book it is wonderful I love book with mystery and witches and magic. It was funny and entertaining. Cendrine and her family is lovely and funny especially the aunt that gets in so much trouble. Cendrine is juggling so may things in her life but her family keeps her busy trying to keep their magic a secret. The characters were well written. If you like light mystery this book is for you. I would listen to this book again.

Great Witchy Cozy

4/5 stars for this witchy cozy mystery!

I received this book in exchange for honest review.

Apparently witchy books are my jam the past couple months! I'm just eating them up! I've especially been into witchy cozy mysteries. This book had great characters (complete with a crazy aunt), a fun story, and a little mischief. I can't wait to see where these characters go in book 2! Great for fans of Miss Spelled.

Audio was great! I may have found a new fav narrator :)

This was so much fun the listen to

I've been listening to this series out of order, it hasn't seemed to matter too much although I have found that later books have spoilers for earlier books because they are linked. That said they seem to work as standalone books and as a series.

Aunt Pearl is my favorite character, she's very no nonsense, she doesn't care what others think and she creates chaos wherever she goes. She adds a lot of humor to every situation she gets involved with.

The cast of characters is the highlight of the book, they're so wonderfully quirky.

If the mystery had been better done I'd have given it five stars, but seriously, who leaves a murder weapon in the trash can of their hotel room? On the very property where the murder happened?

The character voices were really well done and the delivery was dynamic.

Very entertaining and fun cozy mystery

3.5 stars
Entertaining story with great narration.

This was just a fun, humorous, entertaining and very enjoyable cozy mystery. Bonus it's the first in a series so there are more fun filled adventures to come. Perfect book for the times you a light-hearted mystery with a little magic.

Interesting and fun cast of characters. Cendrine is immediately likable but Aunt Pearl was like that one pesky relative we all have that is annoying and lovable at the same time. She almost stole the show. Tyler was also immediately likable. The relationship between them reminded me of Sally & the Sherriff in Practical Magic. Things are bound to get interesting in the future.

This is the first book by Colleen Cross that I have read but it won't be the last. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Petra Burchard did a fantastic job with the narration. Her narration pulled me into the story from the start. Pleasant voice that is easy to listen to for long periods of time. Great character voices. Both male and female. She brought the characters and story to life. She is the perfect narrator for this series. Hopefully she will be narrating the rest of the series. Very enjoyable
