Publisher's summary

Modern day wizard Felix Slade knows better than to meddle in the lives of witches. But when a chance encounter with a beautiful witch, Gabriella, sparks a vision of her demise at the hand of a werewolf, he knows he must act. To make matters worse, his vision reveals feelings he has for this woman he's only seen from afar, and in that moment his life is changed forever.

Trouble has been brewing in sleepy Leotown, but explodes when Felix witnesses the gruesome murder of Gabriella's coven leader and ends up number one on a short list of suspects. It's a poor start to their relationship when Gabriella and her coven sisters attack Felix while looking for answers. With her foot literally on his chest, Felix begins to doubt what he felt in his vision - that is, until the werewolves actually show up.

Wizard in a Witchy World is the first book in the Witchy World series - an urban fantasy, paranormal fairy tale.

This performace.....

So, the story in and of itself was pretty good. The performer was.... well, not. Really did not fit the story and he couldn't even pronound gyro correctly. A greek or mediteranean gyro, pronounced yeero, NOT geero.

Life is tough for a wizard and I witchy world

Any additional comments?

How many times can one poor wizard get his butt kicked? Many many times. This is a great new series. The first book has a wonderfully complex plot with many characters . A great storyline to follow an excellent narration. I can't wait till the next one.

Too witchy

I always enjoy Jamie M's space stories. This was just not my cup of tea. I was hoping for more wizard fantasy than witchcraft.

Great Story and great writing by Jamie as usual

I am a serious SciFi fan so a book about Witches and Wizards was a step outside my norm. It took me a while to get into the first couple chapters but after that I was hooked. I like the subtle hints of the occult and the use of magical beings so to speak.
The hard part was Lou Lamberts narration. I eventually got used to his style but I continuously thought everyone was in their 50's and 60's. Obviously that wasn't the case. Messed with my minds visual a few times. I like Lou's voice and by the time I got to the end of the book I had everything sorted out.
Overall it was a pleasure to listen to and I would recommend it to anyone who would like something different to read. Now on to the next McFarlane book.

Good witch and wizard story

This book has a pretty good story line. It starts slow and I almost gave up on it but after an hour or so it picked up and I enjoyed it quite a lot. The narrator is excellent, I really like Lou Lambert

Not my usual reading

This genre is not my typical stuff, but the story quickly pulled me in. It is a great story that will have you sitting at the edge of your seat.

great promise for the series, would like more back

I like the series and intend on continuing with the next books. the only issues I have are the narrator not fitting this material he is more the hard boiled detective sort, imho, and hopefully after the results in this 1, the romantic scenes won't try and dominate the story, again, imho
All in all I still recommend this book and series, it has a cool magic system and the characters are definitely taking shape.
