About this listen

The first time I met the grumpy lumberjack next door, I almost burnt down his cabin.

The second time, I was throwing tampons at a moose (don't ask). The third time, I was naked.

Henri Gagnon is not just my neighbor and landlord but a pain in my optimistic, plus-sized ass. He's got a protective streak under his grumpy exterior, and he's convinced I won't make it through the Maine winter.

I'm going to show him and the rest of this small town that they're wrong. I have one year to prove myself as the new elementary school principal, or I'll be getting the ax. So I just don't have time to pine away for the grumpy lumberjack next door, no matter how good he looks chopping wood in his suspenders or the way he growls when he calls me buttercup.

But soon, I'm falling headfirst down a hill and into a full-blown crush when he carries me home. He's distracted trying to save his family's lumber business, and I've got a school to run, and this small town is not as sleepy as it seems. Despite our differences, the heat between us makes it hard to stay away.

Could we actually be right for each other? What happens if I ask him, Wood You Be Mine?

Wood You Be Mine? is a standalone, full-length, small-town romance featuring a grumpy lumberjack hero with a heart of gold and a plus-sized, sunshine school principal trying to survive in the woods of northern Maine. If you enjoy flirty banter, ax throwing, wood chopping, and slow dancing, come meet the Lovewell Lumberjacks.

Welcome to Lovewell, Maine, where the moose outnumber the people, and you can't swing an ax without hitting a hot, grumpy lumberjack. Filled with humor, heart, and heat, the Lovewell Lumberjack series are all standalones but are most fun when listened to in order!

I laughed so hard.

This book was adorable, a little slow at first but stick with it. It gets better.

Beautifully done!

I loved this audio so much. This audio made me blubber like a baby! Stephen Borne was perfect for Henri and the wonderful Lucy Rivers was amazing as Alice. This story was brought to life by the audio. I felt every emotion from joy, laugh out loud from throwing all the tampons, thanks Clive and the heartache. Beautifully done.

Book Review

A heartfelt story of Alice and a lumbersnack named Henri. They both were trying to find themselves but in the process found each other. A grumpy/sunshine in nowhere land and add throwing tampons at a moose and spice make this story. Between bouts of heartfelt feelings were laugh out loud scenes! Loved it and can’t wait for the rest of the series! Make sure you read the bonus epilogue!!!

Very sweet and sexy

This was a fun story and sexy. But the formation of a family is what stole my heart. And of course the narration was excellent.

felt like info on the accident was left out.

I feel like missed some information on the accident on who and why. I mean gives you a clue but no definite answer.

Entertaining!

Wood You Be Mine? (Lovewell Lumberjacks #1) is a small town, grumpy lumberjack romance.

Henri and Alice had really great chemistry. The tension buildup was enjoyable and well written. I loved the drama, and intimate moments. I absolutely swooned during the tender moments with other characters as well. Clive was definitely a highlight!

Lucy Rivers and Stephen Borne narrated this book so well. They brought these characters to life in this entertaining story.

Horrible voices/good story

The story is so good but the voices and awkward reading is awful and makes it so difficult to stay in the story. If the male character is speaking, it should not be the female reader deepening her voice to try and sound like a man. Same with the male reader.

Here's the thing, there was POTENTIAL!

I wanna start this off by saying I've never rated a book this low and I have read some awful smut in my time 😂 I wanted to love this book grumpy lumberjacks are my thing, however there was a lack of character development for Henri (male lead) which I found crazy since Alice (female lead) was in her self betterment and self discovery era. I feel like the author did a great job on Alice and helping us understand her life struggles with loving herself and the awful family she grew up in. Almost anyone can see themselves in Alice and root for her the entire book. HOWEVER the same courtesy was not given to Henri and I felt like this was an injustice. the best part of the book was the representation for children in foster care and how important the school's influence is, to these children's lives.
