Connu sous le nom de Yasuke, il accompagne des missionnaires jésuites européens et est admis dans le cercle rapproché de l'un des seigneurs de guerre les plus puissants de cette époque, Oda Nobunaga.Comment cet homme a-t-il pu avoir un parcours aussi exceptionnel ? Pour tenter de le comprendre, il faut plonger dans les archives, suivre les maigres indices témoignant de son existence et étudier le contexte historique et politique d'un monde en pleine transformation, de Lisbonne à Kyoto, en passant par la côte du Mozambique.
