Publisher's summary

Alec Sullivan has always believed he has it all. A billion-dollar private aviation business. A penthouse apartment in New York City. Beautiful women who know better than to expect him ever to fall in love. And great siblings for whom he'd do anything. But when Alec's business partner passes away and leaves everything to a daughter Alec never knew about, in an instant everything in his life turns upside down - all because of Cordelia.

Cordelia always thought she was perfectly happy with her life. She owns a garden store she loves, lives in a pretty little cottage in the same town as her adoptive parents, and figures there's plenty of time to meet Mr. Right. But she never counted on becoming the surprise heir to a fortune - or on meeting a man like Alec Sullivan. A shockingly sexy billionaire who makes her heart race and melt all at the same time.

Neither Alec nor Cordelia plans on getting any closer than they have to. Only, how can either of them fight this kind of heat, this depth of desire? And when Cordelia needs Alec's support, it's pure instinct for him to be there for her. But when it's her turn to help him confront his deepest pain, will Alec let her in? Or will he push her away, just as he's pushed away everyone who's loved him for the past 30 years....

Bella Andre does it again!

Oh how the mighty have fallen. When the most stubborn of Sullivan siblings falls in love, does the world hear it? Why yes, loud and clear! Thanks to Bella Andre, we all get to revel in the comeuppance that rightly belongs to Alec Sullivan. Thankfully it's a win-win, for us and for him.

You Do Something To Me is Book 3 for the New York Sullivan series - now 17 large in Bella Andre's over-arching Sullivan world. And joyfully there are birthdays and weddings to bring the whole lot of them back together for reappearances which will delight readers who have remained faithful to the series line.

Alec is an uptight jerk, the product of having to grow up to quickly and keep a iron-like rein on his emotions from too early an age. Devastated from losing his business partner, he finds out about the daughter and heir no one was aware ever existed, least of all her. Cordelia, is sweet and intelligent and highly perceptive. She and Alec have a connection that, like most Sullivan love tropes, is magical and instantaneous. And that isn't bad - except Alec fights it tooth and nail the entire way. Somehow Cordelia, unlike her many predecessors and even his family, is able to strip away his veneers and find the "real Alec" which helps him heal not only himself but the once thought irreparable tear in the family fabric he has with his father. Somehow that was my favorite story line - watching patience, love and fear chip away at decades of resentment and anger to rebuild that oldest of bonds. But don't think this a lackluster romance - because Bella takes this steamy read into the dirt, literally. Alec and Cordelia burn up the sheets, sofas, gardens, beaches, airplanes - everywhere.

Eva Kaminsky does a stellar job narrating the story - breathing life into both male and female characters and keeping a cadence and pace that helps move the reader along through angsty emotions and internal monologues. Her pitch is perfect during dialogue scenes and captures the sexy sensuality of the romance scenes.

Get Some Popcorn, Because This Is Going To Be Good

Get Some Popcorn, Because This Is Going To Be Good!

This is #03 of the New York Sullivan's Series, and #17 of the Sullivan's Series.

HEA, NO cheating, NO cliffhangers!

Even though these are listed as being able to be read as standalones, they are connected by characters. I always advise to read in order to get the most out of the experience.

Content Warning: Yes, there is SEX! Both in thoughts and actions.

♥ Story ♥

This is technically #03 in a spin-off series, but it is also part of the bigger Sullivan world. I did not have any problems, but it is obvious that you are late to the game at this point. There are a lot of cameos from past characters so if you are one that dislikes spoilers and you plan to read/listen to the whole Sullivan Series, then you might want to put this on the back burner and get to that first. I do have plans to go back to the beginning and start anew now that the 3 book audio tour is over.

Alec Sullivan is the oldest of the New York brood. He is the one that had to step up and take care of everyone when his mother died and his father went in hiding. Like his siblings, this shaped his opinions on love and marriage for the negative. His sudo-father and business partner, Gordon Whitley, passes away at the beginning of this story and it starts Alec's journey through the rabbit hole. This only gets curiouser once he meets Her!

Cordelia Langley is Gordon's secret daughter, and new heir to half of Alec's throne. She is a botanist and small business owner by trade, and had no clue of her father's identity until lawyers showed up at her door. She is amazed by the Sullivan's and their bond. Cordelia is a down-to-earth kind of gal, both figuratively and literally. Her honesty and simple view of life throws Alec for a loop.

I'm not going to lie, I really didn't like Alec very much after books 1 and 2! He was a huge grumpy pain in the butt. He managed to win me over though. You get the backstory you know already, but through Alec's eyes. It softened him in my mind. I saw the ending coming, but it was the most logical solution! The only bad thing I can say is that it's going to suck big time having to wait for Harry's book!

♥ Author ♥

Bella Andre made me love an A**hole, what more can I say! Now I sit in the corner rocking while I wait for Harry's book!

♥ Narrator(s) ♥

Eva Kaminsky's performance was excellent! I could feel Alec holding Cordelia's face through her voice!

♥ Audio Production ♥

Normal speed was fine.

Excellent next chapter in the New York Sullivan series

Bella Andre weaves another great story about this branch of the Sullivan’s. Alex is the most troubled and least friendly food the siblings but meets his match with beautiful botanist, Cordelia, and is able to bring out the best in him. The circumstances that bring them together are extraordinary and to their surprise ignites a passionate love that neither expected or thought the wanted. Eva Kaminski does another excellent performance narrating the novel. I would highly recommend to adult that likes romance novels.

I fell in love with Alec.

Oh my gosh! This series just keeps getting better! At this point, I feel like nothing could go sour moving forward. Bella Andrea, you have officially won a spot in my Top 50 Favorite Authors. I've yet to make have more than 20, so let's say Top 15 LOL. I LOVE the name Cordelia. I fell in love with Alec.
Amazing narration from Eva Kaminsky, again. She brought the characters to life. I have no complaints.

Alex was my clincher . . . he had so much hate

The New York Sullivans’ are back and I have fallen deeper in love with them. The Sullivans' have deep sense of family, love, bonding, friendship, life. Alex and Cordelia's journey toward each other was more than either was thinking they were missing from their lives. This time around love comes from a tragic loss. In the midst of it all they find something they never would have searched for. Getting to spend time with the Sullivans was the perfect mix of past, present, and future. This was just the dose of love that was needed to cap my week. Bella delivers another fantastic family romance that gives you more.

Narration from Eva Kaminsky has made me feel like I was coming home. She has that voice the smooths the road and makes it all worth the wait for the next installment. Eva is that staple with the Sullivan clan that lets me know all is well. She makes the characters come to life and gives a deeper connection to the entire world built around the whole family. I love her smooth flow of diction and pacing. I found the audio to be a perfect complement to Bella Andre’s work.

Begin your journey to love, life, family, friendship . . . and more . . .

Need To Take The Time To Smell The Flowers

Would you listen to You Do Something To Me (New York Sullivans #3) (The Sullivans Book 17) again? Why?

I would listen to this book again. Ms. Kaminsky does a great job at bringing the Sullivan family, as well as the extended family to life. She has the perfect tone of voice that lets you relax and concentrate on what she's reading. I didn't hear any type of blips that would interrupt that enjoyment. There are those that can't read a book and what better way to enjoy Ms. Andre's world but by having someone help you experience this family.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think it's a toss up between Cordelia and Alec. They both seem to need the other. We have two people with strong personalities. But the sense of family shines through and it's hard not to care about the lives of this branch of the Sullivans.

Which character – as performed by Eva Kaminsky – was your favorite?

Cordelia edges out Alec by just a hair. Cordelia is a woman who is thrown out of her comfort zone when her world is turned upside down. Alec has a business that needs him but you see how hard it is for him not to have Cordelia in his life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Having lost a parent a year ago, it would probably be the memorial service. I had no trouble picturing that scene play out. It also made me glad that our service was a lot less grand. This is something that the author is good at. The reader gets to feel as if they are a part of the Sullivan clan.

Any additional comments?

I'm trying to bring my flower garden back to life and Cordelia has me thinking about what I might try to invite some nature into my yard. This story had me looking forward to Spring so that I can get back out into the yard and see things start to grow. It would also be the perfect time to relisten to this story. It may also be a bad time because I may end up concentrating on the book so much that I sit down, forget about my work, and just listen.

Our author reminds the reader that you don't need a lot of sex to have a really romantic story. Ms. Kaminsky reminds the reader that with the right narrator it's ok to relax and concentrate as someone tells you a very romantic tale. She has such a pleasant voice that all outside noises just seem to disappear when all that's left is the story she's telling you. The only disappointment was when the end came. It's also a realization that there's not a book four. But what's good is that I have plenty of other Sullivans to get to know and all of them are read by Ms. Kaminsky.

I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.

Alex is my favorite of the New York Sullivans!

I realize I sound like a broken record when it comes to my reviews of Bella Andre’s New York Sullivan’s audiobooks, but they really do just keep getting better each time! Every time I think I have a new favorite I listen to the next and I’m in love all over again.

You Do Something to Me Was just so good and Alex takes the Sullivans and their love stories to another level of swoon! His and Cordelia’s story, and ultimate happily ever after, was one I really, really rooted for them. I don’t often cry with stories, but that epilogue was everything!

Narration by Ava Kaminsky was spot on once again. She did an amazing job bringing these stories to life and she’s definitely earned a spot as a narrator to look out for for me. 5 Stars.
