About this listen

If you have ADHD, your brain doesn't work in the same way as a "normal" or neurotypical brain does because it's wired differently. You and others may see this difference in circuitry as somehow wrong or incomplete. It isn't. It does present you with significant challenges like time management, organization skills, forgetfulness, trouble completing tasks, mood swings, and relationship problems.

In Your Brain's Not Broken, Dr. Tamara Rosier explains how ADHD affects every aspect of your life. You'll finally understand why you think, feel, and act the way you do. Dr. Rosier applies her years of coaching others to offer you the critical practical tools that can dramatically improve your life and relationships.

Anyone with ADHD - as well as anyone who lives with or loves someone with ADHD - will find here a compassionate, encouraging guide to living well and with hope.

Interesting and informative BUUUUUT

The way she pronounces “adHd” with the emphasis on the H is really annoying, I don’t know who told her to say it like that but it was like nails on a chalkboard every time. The overall narration is pleasant enough, except for that.

Just a bag full of weird

It was really awesome to know my brain isn’t broken. I was able to understand my ADHD. I felt seen. I love knowing I’m not the only one with these thoughts.

Informative and Suportive

This book is super! It helped me put together a lot of pieces in my life and provided me with insight into why the current treatment I’ve been receiving isn’t working (I am misdiagnosed). This book lays out the subtleties of the symptoms and then goes to the next level by providing strategies for managing life with ADHD better!

Was it a robot reading?

I think that the content was great. Voice was robotic. There were no pauses between chapters.

Must Listen to Book!

Such a great book! Loved every second of it and is very well read. Helped me understand my brain more and how to build habits and roll with the flow of how my brain works so I can live a happier and more productive life!

No pdf supplements came with the Audible book which is frustrating because there were some quizzes and visual ideas that are hard to cement into memory or take without a PDF.

Great book!

This book honestly made me cry a handful of times because I could relate to it so heavily. My whole life I’ve felt so incapable and incompetent of so many things and felt like the dumbest person in the room almost always—especially as a child. Every seemed to just get it but me; I was so lost and desperate to be “normal” like everyone else. It also didn’t help that there wasn’t nearly as much discovered about ADHD and just how horribly it can truly weigh you down in every aspect of your life. It’s honestly a very horrible thing that I’ve lived with for so long but knowing that it’s possible to get therapy and work through it to make systems that work (varies from person to person) is a comforting fact for me. This book along with the experiences I’ve heard and researched from others made me realize that my brain is in fact not broken and that I’m not alone in my exhausting every day struggles.

Insightful

Enjoyable book. I really loved the idea of creating a metaphor for how you see ADHD. And I loved the way the author helps you reframe your thinking with the use of talking with your future self to change how you approach getting tasks done and finding the motivation to get things done. I'll be using these ideas for myself and with clients I work with.
