  • Ep. 35 "Trust in the Process, and Faith in the Outcome" - Josh Wymore, Ph.D.
    Jan 24 2025

Josh Wymore, Ph.D. joins me on today's episode. While working his side hustle, Josh realized that those were the best hours of his week, so he set out to make it 40 hours doing what he loves. Over the years, Josh has turned that into a reality.

As an author, executive coach of fortune 500 companies, and a keynote speaker including a TEDx talk back in the fall of 2024, Josh has a passion for helping leaders become better by focusing their energy, skills, and mindset on becoming humbler.

In today's episode we look at Proverbs 22:7 and how debt plays such a big part of our lives. How we struggle with lacking contentment and wanting more than we need. Josh shares a story of his upbringing and how his parents were very open to them about their financial situation, specifically with debt, and how that has had a lasting impact on leading his own family. We talk about the pain of self-discipline verse the pain of regret and how our job is to faithfully say yes to God even when we don't fully know where that might be taking us.

We also talk about time debt and how important it is to have margin and understand our limits so that we can have lasting joy and freedom.
Listen to the end as Josh challenges us to focus on fasting rather than abundance because we live in a culture that wants us to consume more.

  • Ep. 34 "God's Word Works" - Ron Blue
    Dec 19 2024

It was a privilege and honor to interview Ron Blue. After working on Mainstreet, Wall Street and doing overseas work, Ron was convicted that there was a big part of faith and finances missing - that personal financial advice was following a secular worldview and not a biblical worldview. Over the last 40-50 years, Ron has been on a mission to make this a reality. Founder of Ron Blue Institute, Ron Blue Trust, Author of 17 books including Master Your Money and starting Kingdom Advisors, Ron has gone on to equip individuals, couples, and advisors to be more educated on looking at our finances from a biblical perspective and how we can become better stewards with what we have been blessed with. In our discussion we highlight a variety of scripture verses in addition to talking through some resources including the 4H's and the 5 uses of money. Finally, Ron shares stories including how a lot of his journey started on a napkin.

  • Ep. 33 " Learning Through Experience" - Ross McCampbell
    Oct 22 2024

Ross McCampbell is the Executive Director at WBCL Radio in Fort Wayne, IN. Early on in life, Ross knew he wanted to do something in television or radio. After earning a communications degree from Ohio State University, he felt the pull to radio. After a few entry level positions, Ross interviewed at WBCL in 1989 and has been there ever since. In 2011, Ross became the Executive Director, which is the position he still holds.

Ross shares about his time at WBCL and how in today's culture, people usually bounce around jobs and look for that "next best thing". He talks about God's faithfulness during his time at WBCL.

We spend time in this episode looking at Paul's letter to the church in Philippi, where we specifically look at Philippians 4:12. Learning about what God's word says about money, wealth, and possessions takes time and is a process. The more we dwell and dedicate ourselves to learning, the more experiences we have that make us understand things better. We also discuss how Jesus valued balance during his time on earth which often led him going off by himself to dwell and pray.

Finally, listen as Ross shares stories from his earlier life on how God's provision came through time and time again. How lessons learned during those times have made him into the person and leader he is today.

  • Ep. 31 "Little Steps of Obedience" - Rudy Mahara
    Jul 31 2024

Rudy Mahara is the Regional Vice President of the National Christian Foundation in Indiana. After serving in the military post 9/11 and deploying to Iraq, Rudy joined his dad's financial planning practice. It was during his time as an advisor where Rudy learned about National Christian Foundation. Over time, he felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to pursue working for the National Christian Foundation. Now, Rudy can align his financial expertise with giving and generosity discussions he has with other advisors and prospective givers.

Rudy joins the podcast to discuss Deuteronomy 8:17-18. Here we see God really challenging and training the Israelites for what is to come. He wants us to have wealth, however, we often think the power comes from our own doing when ultimately it is God's power giving us the ability to create wealth. We also spend time talking about abundance and sacrificial giving and how we need to be obedient to the Holy Spirit's nudging in our lives. Rudy also challenges us on relational giving. Sometimes it is talking to a neighbor on the porch or sharing a meal together that makes the difference.
