It's actually really good, and it's not super sad, it's more reflective on their relationship and Julie's relationship with his family. It's not super focused on the phone calls, they're just sorta sprinkled in lightly.

(BTW, I might be wrong. This is all based on my memory of reading it and that was in January.)
