Excellent speculative fiction with a unique voice

Robert Evans has a wonderful, unique writing style and very genuine delivery. The story gets a bit bogged down towards the conclusion, but the strengths outweigh the weaknesses. I've been listening while recovering from surgery, and it's been a much needed distraction. Second installment, please?

A fun and wild "what if" story.

love it when the author reads the book. Not only is Robert the man but the sound design was brilliant as well.

great work

a very fun story with a lot of memorable new takes on cybernetics, the post apocalypse and the nature of war. anyone who doesn't like the book is probably a religious extremist or a pearl clutching prude.

Well that was DOPE

Can't wait to read the follow on book following the Anarchist rolling across the north American lands. I would love to be on the team that makes this a show, or movies, or mini series... with just passion for the art and my experience as a dumb Marine this would be a project worth the effort. Let's make this a real thing, see if I can contact Robert Evans l, and make some art.

10 outta 10

This has been a special joy to listen to given how and where I grew up - in extreme religion in the Midwest. The author has written something unique and narrated it wonderfully. Releasing it as a podcast so more people are able to listen is just one more reason to hold the author in high regard.

Edge of your seat.

This book is absolutely fantastic I wish I had a hard copy to keep reading after the new episodes. I have yet to be left with a dull, or boring moment. The character introduction and cross over is absolutely fantastic. Detail so vivid I feel like Im with Roland about to break Sasha out of the heavenly kingdom. I cannot wait to hear what’s next.

Intelligent post-apocalyptic ride

I thoroughly enjoyed the first handful of chapters/episodes. Evans has a perspective on apocalyptic fiction that is often missing- he isn’t rewriting a “lone former spec-ops patriot restores the Constitution as he slays the henchmen of an illegitimate government”, but rather has (so far) melded science fiction, current events, and historical perspective into a wild and bloody ride.

Grim fairly plausible future dystopian fiction

A solid story. Good characters, concept and writing. Occasional editing funk, but infrequent, and hardly disrupts the story.

My hind brain made me post this

Hey, you should probably listen to this if you're into post-apocalyptic fiction drug use or Texas. Or at least 2 of the 3. Robert is killing it with his performance. Can't wait to hear where the story goes from here. (Currently chapter 11.)

Fun and engaging

A fun and engaging read that I found difficult to put down! Cleverly blends a plausible near future dystopian vision with some over the top fantastical SciFi elements to great effect. My biggest critique is Robert Evans choice to narrate himself. It's not bad, per se, especially if you're a fan of his podcast, but he does have a very specific cadence and intonation that could be annoying and sometimes just didn't work. If he had hired a real narrator this book would have been truly amazing.
