We are studying Genesis 2:1-3 and observing God’s model for rest that we can apply to our lives. God completed the work He purposed to do each day. God is God and still chose to establish boundaries each day as to what He would complete. This should motivate us to be realistic in what we can accomplish in a given day.

We are still delving in Genesis 1 for principles that help us frame how to order our days toward productivity. Starting at verse 4 throughout the remainder of the chapter, we see three themes emerging: (1) God was productive and creating every day; (2) He reviewed all of His accomplishments at the end of the day and blessed the day declaring it was good; and (3) when He made humankind He declared that it was VERY good.
