    Matt is joined by Professor Andrew Pask who is the head of Tigrr Lab, which stands for the Thylacine Integrated Genetic Restoration Research Lab and what they are working towards with the de-extinction of the Thylacine or commonly known as the Tasmanian Tiger or Tassie Tiger.


    They discuss an array of topics on the subject that include; The race for the first animal to be brought back out of the Woolly Mammoth, Dodo and Thylacine; The genetic manipulation that could save the Northern Quoll and render the Cane Toads venom inert to it; Should we bring back animals that have gone extinct; The process of releasing the Thylacine back into the wild when we have animals to do so; The absence of an apex predator such as the Thylacine on the landscape and the impact to the ecosystem; The Yellowstone wolves and their re introduction impact; How animals may have a genetic imprint in their memory of predators; The timeframe for when we will have an animal; The process and why the fat-tailed dunnart is a key component; and plenty more.
