What’s with all this book banning?

We had that question too, which is why we started Banned Camp—a comedy podcast where we read banned books chapter by chapter, out loud, and try to figure out why they were banned in the first place.

Turns out, the people pushing to ban these books usually haven’t even read them. It's all about some ridiculous political agenda.

Jen and Dan kick off this season by reading chapter 1 of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Dan seems to identify with the slower pace of life in a sleepy town, but Jennifer can't stand that phrase 'Ladies bathed before noon after their three o'clock naps, and by nightfall were like soft teacakes with frostings of sweat and sweet talcum.' It's like they're being compared to baked goods covered in sweat and talcum powder. That's just not right -- or is it?
