There are many words for love in the Greek language. The most powerful is the word "agape." This is the word that is most often used when describing the love that God has for us. This is also the type of love we are called to have for each other. So what does this mean?

This week we look at Jesus' sermon to the church of Thyatira - a church that is dealing with a problem that has been so commonplace in the church throughout history - the problem of idolatry. While idolatry may look different today, it still exists. So, what do we do about it?

The church in Pergamum had a problem - they were going against God's commands to not eat food sacrificed to idols. I mean, after all, whats the big deal? It's not like they believed in the idols that the meat was sacrificed to. The problem is that they were sacrificing their holiness for their longings.
